Say we bought Billy for around £7.5m, then the agent fee and sign-on fee perhaps took that number to £9m or something. Add around £2m in wages and £500k-£1m in flying his arse all over England and Europe, and then 5% of the incoming transfer fee lost to solidarity payments. Lucky to make any sort of profit in that case.

Maybe its the new club model: buy young talented players, turn them into key starting players in the team, and then sell them with no kind of profit.
Or... £12m ain't happening unless hell freezes over.

In real profit you might be right, but in PSR terms it’s £8m profit. Still nowhere near enough for the club to consider cashing in on him IMO, but definitely a chunk higher than breaking even.

PSR is the least of our concerns! Losing money is!

Exactly - Fabian Hürzeler won't need to see any of last season's players in training to know what they're all about.
While this is true, I do think it’s possible that he could change his mind on some of them once he actually met them and spent some time with them for a few days. There could well be someone he rates as a player but just doesn’t click with as a person, or vice verca.

And there's a difference between watching what they did for RDZ and finding out what they can actually do. Just because they weren't playing the way FH could use, doesn't mean they can't.

That's awful news for the vast majority of the squad.

If FH is behind this decision without meeting and seeing what WBG is capable on the training ground I have worries about where we might be going this season.

I am not a fan of managers who are that bigoted

I am already moving to FH OUT

That's one take. Here's another:

With his current quality and development trajectory, he should reach the level Mac Allister had when he really started to show he was a world class midfielder. He is already a high quality player in the Premier League. When he was missing for a seven game spell in February and March, we played Championship level football every week.

His passing, positioning and reading of the game is elite tier stuff and his duelling has improved a lot. He is a key player for us and one of the most promising defensive playmakers in the world. There is no chance we are letting him go for any less than £50m.
Just out of interest HS, do you get all the Albion PL games on TV ( or dodgy fire stick) in your homeland? I’m not arguing or supporting your arguments on WBG either way, but you do obviously have knowledge and opinions on BHA and wonder how much you see

In the case of Wee Billy. I’ve seen his shooting and his defending. He simply won’t be the type of midfielder goal scorer that FH had at St Pauli. Equally, he is not going to be a false central defender in between Dunky and JPvH.

I suspect Conte and Napoli recognise this and that is why they are lowballing us.

I don't ever watch the PL or any other (non-international) football on Swedish TV. No idea if its possible to watch all games that way.

I stream everything. Since I started watching Brighton in 2019, I've missed 6 PL games, 0 of the friendlies (except the behind closed doors ones obviously) and 0 cup games (except the League Cup game vs Villa in 19/20 and a couple of other non-streamed/televised early cup games). Also watch some 5-10 U21 games each season. And all for free

Great effort.
Whilst I don’t agree with some of your takes, no doubting you’re a fan…….

Is Swany a fan or an obsessed observer? You say potato...
interesting observation.

Are they interchangeable? I mean we’re all fairly obsessed with our team doing well, but are we doing that as fans?

A fan sticks with a team through thick and thin, @Han Solo doesn't seem to have walked (yet).

I think by being obsessed you’re a fan?

Here
Fcku Swanny, back on topic, I really don't get why this transfer is even being discussed - I must be missing something (like a real good reason why one of our most talented player should leave and for such a derisory sum)???
