pros - covered a f*** load of ground, worked hard, almost set up a goal for Bennett/Crofts, went close with header, was unlucky that nobody was in the box to bury that one he dummied

cons - he was getting fouled all over the place, but was he looking for the decision? He def shouldn't have ducked out of that challenge, and he could have done better with that toe poke.

just wondered what you all think. I know NSC usually either reckons he's amazing or shithouse, just curious as to what people reckon today.

Have a look at the Players Ratings thread, bit of a split opinion.

Decent. Played 15 minutes more than he should of IMO.

Quick pros - linked up well, kept battling, won a few freekicks
Quick cons - should possibly of hit the target in first few minutes (header), dived for penalty (wouldn't have moaned if we got it though!)

He is committed and I like him. He has ATTITUDE!
Was knocked all over the shop by that giant Ewe bloke.

Murray 25 goals in the Championship, season 2011-2.

I salute you Glen, class act and fast becoming an Albion legend.

It's the old dilema again. Did he play well because he got into scoring positions, or was he shit because he didn't put the ball away.

Personally I thought he had a good game on the whole. Obviously there were a few comedy moments and he didn't score, but as you say his workrate was good and on another night he would've got a couple.

I like Murray but he bottled too many things for my liking tonight.

Positives:
- Got into good positions.
- Was the best forward on the pitch until Gillespie came on
- Unlucky with a very good header
- Class dummy
- Worked hard in a role that does not suit him particularly well

Negatives
- Dived on occasion
- Got bullied a bit, but bloody hell, that centre half was a BEAST

For me he really didn't play well tonight. He was being manhandled by the big man at the back yes, but he looked for far too much and the dive in the box was hideous.
He is a quality player but i think he had a real off day today. Foz should've been on after 65 mins.

The big bloke was really physical. Very tough to play against for 90 minutes. I'm not sure about the penalty. I think Murray tripped overthe defenders leg. Not a penalty, just unfortunate.

Not at his best but still done ok I think. Just what a stupid booking to pick up now only 1 booking away from 2 game ban was a bit silly there I think.

he fell on his arse a few too many times, couldnt tell whether he was getting nudges off the ball or tripping on the shit pitch. so when he went down, nothing given, even though it was a blantant foul.

Good player, but poor tonight. Bullied by their beastly centre backs every time the ball came to him, but even when he did have the ball at his feet with time and space he held onto it a bit too long or misplaced his pass - not his usual classy hold up play. Pitch may have played a part.

Doesn't usually go to ground anywhere near that much either, slightly cringe-worthy at times. Odd game from him tonight.

But we all know how good he is when on song. Possibly time to get Forster a bit more involved though.

Did as much as you could reasonably expect. Very difficult to go it alone up front - even Zamora found it hard under Taylor. Would prefer to see him with Forster. Usually at least one of them scores (Walsall an example)

Interesting to read a number of the comments on her pertaining to Murrays performance. Ive been a regular away this season so will only comment based on what ive seen of him away from the withdean. With that in mind i thought he had a poor game today in comparison to what ive seen so far. It wasnt due to a lack of effort that was clear to see i just think the two wide men Lua Lua and Bennett wernt at the races today and that affected Murrays game. That said the defence was solid and against a fourth placed Colchester it was a good result.
