Disappointing, if not surprising.

Mugabe is clearly MAD. He is of the same ilk as Hitler. Both were MAD. The same infrastructure is in place now as with the Nazi's in that most of the people know they were/are MAD but everyone is too scared to say so.

"He was elected, he took an oath, and he is here with us, so he is President and we cannot ask him more," said Omar Bongo, President of Gabon since 1967. "He conducted elections and I think he won."

I wouldn't trust Bongo as far as I could throw him. He is one of the richest leaders in the whole world with allegations of embezzlement from their oil productions.

Fucks sake. I can begin the understand the ideal behind wanting their land back that was taken during the colonisation, but Mugabe is destroying his country and his people. As long as they back each other, then they will continue to stay in power and reap the benefits of being top of the pile. :nono:

Unbelievable. Are these people blind? Yes the legacy of post colonialism wil take a long time to get over but no matter how unpalatable it is to say, the fact is that many of Africa's problems lie in appalling political leadership and corruption. I really don't know what you do with someone like Mugabe.

Yes. He got over 90% of the vote apparently. Clearly their election campaign worked well after the first round. I hope they were using recyclable paper for their flyers and rang the doorbells at a reasonable hour. :shootself

I thought he would have got 100% as the ballot paper read

1. Mugabe
2. Mugabe
3. Mugabe
4. Mugabe
5. Mugabe
6. Mugabe

If the Africans collectively cannot be part of the solution to this problem, many people in the West are going to conclude, quite understandably, that this is a continent that simply cannot help itself and govern effectively.

I have some Bongo magazines, but don't think he features in them

well, once you get past the Daily Moan style of the first few paragraphs it settles down into a more informative piece that doesnt entirely reflect the headline, with some voices against him.

however, just remember the light touch next time you hear "oil" in the same sentance as Zimbabwe, we are not there militarily because the other african nations wont allow it, end of.
