Huh? All massive hits, highly regarded, and still enjoyed by people to this day.

Taken and Bourne generally regarded as well crafted thrillers with mass appeal.

Bourne especially was largely liked by critics.

Taken was/is mocked by Kermode, then the ever snobby Guardian or Independent best movie lists tend to exclude popular movies.

Point taken.

As an aside, Kermode’s taste in film is laughable. His obsession with his favourite film of all time,The Exorcist is as irritating as it silly.

I gave up on Kermode and Mayo when they left the BBC.
I'm now all in on Sean Fennessey of The Big Picture & The Rewatchables.
That man knows his stuff.

& as a sign of good faith I'll play nicely

Children of Men is a great film, and not just because it turns Bexhill into a refugee camp!

Slade in Flame. Very dark, fantastic music, great acting from Noddy and Jim Lea, a cameo appearance by the Metropol Hotel in Brighton and (I believe) Tom Conti’s first feature film role.

Good to see Pleasantville and Dan in Real Life mentioned, both fantastic.

I think Strange Days is underrated. Written by James Cameron, directed by Kathryn Bigelow.

I love it. Didn't do well at the box office though did win a couple of Saturn Awards.
