I've never been a fisherman but I've never missed an episode. Just pleasant, funny, sometimes quite touching, therapeutic tv.

Fishing, a chance to contemplate and reflect. May be would all benefit from taking it up after the shock and anguish of yesterday's events.

I have been contemplating taking up fishing so that I can have time to contemplate. Sea or river appeals. I fantasise about driving to a remote mountainous region for the weekend and fly fishing in the most scenic of rivers. The trouble is I'm not sure I want to inflict distress upon the wee beasties for my own amusement. Maybe sea fishing and eating what you catch is more justifiable. Can't see the point in fishing a ready filled carp lake though.

Great start to the series……on my old stomping ground in part too. Lovely, easy viewing after a bit of a week.

Well if you fly fish for trout you can eat them (usually a limit on your catch).

Have some mates who fly fish and would bring back their catch, have one each themselves and flog the rest to a local pub.

I really enjoy his programmes, he makes me laugh a lot but I wouldn’t want it to be at the expense of his health. Get well soon Bob - your a gem.

By far my favourite guest on Would I Lie to You, haven't watched gone fishing but he is one funny man. Doesn't sound good, hopefully he recovers well and slows down
