I didn't understand some of the financial jiggery-pokery discussed, but it hadn't occurred to me that 'cleverly' spreading the cost of a 100m player over 8 years means that any profit in selling them before those years are up means far less actual profit.
If I got that right.
So buying Moises etc for that much means that they expected it lead to European glory. Otherwise it's essentially dead money?

In order to weaken other teams, Man City have the ability to buy their players: turns out there's another way to be that dastardly - get other teams to buy your players!!

Would the euro delay be more about the players than the teams? I would expect teams would want to sign them before the euros just in case they have a brilliant tournament and draw attention from other sides. For the players, it would be the opposite - if they have a killer Euros, they could demand higher wages and get themselves a bigger deal (or perhaps a more desirable team to sign for).

Yes - he’s only played about 25 games in the last year and a half, and keeps getting hamstring injuries. No club will pay serious money for him.
Plus, everyone knows Chelsea will be desperate to sell some of their academy-developed players this summer, so will have them over a barrel. Why would any other EPL team want to help Chelsea avoid FFP penalties?!

It's just a delight that, not only have they smashed all this money on players who've turned out to be garbage for them, but they're all on handsome wages and long contracts so if nobody else can afford their wages, they will sit there, draining Chelsea's budget for years to come, just like Winston Bogarde did. And the manager, whoever it is that week, will try and force them to quit by making them train with the kids and ostracising them from the first team squad, but if they're like Bogarde, or Gareth Bale for his last few years at Real Madrid, they'll just sit around, taking the money and wasting everybody's time. Hopefully even the Saudi league won't be interested.

Man Utd and Chelsea massively helped Chelsea signing Mount and Havertz respectively for £120m.

Now if everyone could leave their primaddonnas alone (James, Chilwell, Gallagher etc) we could relegate that horrible club through FFP. They would also not be a threat anymore to thieir fellow Big 6, Villa and Newcastle. Please can this happen.

That’s true, but usually players want to focus on the tournament and the national team manager certainly wants them to.

I don't understand what that is telling us. Is it break even fee for each individual player?

If so what does it tell us about their finances/ffp? It doesn't say how much they need to make to comply with ffp as far as I can work out. Or are we taking the 100m spoken about elsewhere in this thread as the figure they need? In which case they'd need to sell a collection of those players for a combined 100m above the break even figure?
