I felt pretty sure he would agitate for a move as soon as Arsenal put a firm offer in, which is why I started the poll - I was interested to see how many people though the same. Not many at all as it turned out.

I think we would have seen Chelsea off in this window but Arsenal, particularly given their lead at the top of the league, felt like a different proposition completely. The chance to be a Premier League winner and all but guaranteed Champions League football next season.

I would imagine they don’t have to say anything. If they have decided to play hardball and not let Caicedo go in this transfer window why should they make a public announcement? A silent response is a gigantic f*** off to the vultures, unscrupulous agents and other snakes in the grass. It might also give Moises pause for thought but I’m sure that will be dealt with privately in-house.

What is of most concern is whether the club are ambitious enough to go all out for a European spot by the season’s end. If that is the case then someone as important as Caicedo, in helping to achieve that aim, will no doubt be refused a move.

Well, I think the club meant that and do still mean that.

But I wonder if they also thought Moises was unlikely to resort to these sort of tactics, and assuming no mega-offer was made in the coming days, things would blow over until the inevitable summer auction.

I agree £60 million is not enough especially given the timing. The club are in a strong position to demand good money given the length of contract and club setup. I personally think he’ll still be with us come the end of the window unless the club get an offer over at least £80million probably closer to £100 million.
We will see if other clubs up the price as the end of the transfer window gets closer.

Club should release a statement that says something like:

"Previously we were reluctant to let Caicedo leave, but would have agreed if our asking price was met (which up until now, it hasn't been). But after recent developments, we are now announcing that no offers will be accepted in this transfer window, regardless of value.

We refuse to work with underhand tactics to let players leave for less than their value to us. We look forward to working with Moises for the rest of the season to continue our fantastic progress."

Yup said it before. The money doesn't matter. Anything we get for him is going to be huge. What matters if he does leave is that there's gonna be a massive f***ing hole in midfield. And to think Mac will be off in the Summer too..Bleak..

no way can we reward that behaviour with a transfer. would set a terrible precedent. I mentioned this earlier, exactly what I was worried about. reeks of him being ill advised by agents, however. if he continues to play well for the rest of the season then I'll be inclined to believe that it's exactly that.
