He's played 26 times for us in the Premier League and wants away - unbelievable,

Unfortunately this has been allowed to happen by Tony Bloom making the ridiculous statement that he will not stand in the way of anyone who wants to leave.
To be clear. Are we blaming Tony for producing a dataset that helps identify players across the world that we can buy for not much and then sell for tens of millions while having the best season in the history of our club? We are never going to compete with the big boys in wages so there is no point in trying to do so as that is where financial instability is found.

I suspect reaching europe this season would be ahead of any planned schedule and we still might. Maybe we have someone lined up to replace him? I don’t know. But I do know I was gutted when Cuc left but we have ended up with someone even better. And made about 45 million profit on that swap.

we are a feeder club. We will always be a feeder club to the giants. It is how it works. Let’s get behind the side and see if we can continue to grow. I trust Tony and think that all of us wetting the beds over someone leaving who has played about 25 games for the club is a bit much. Yes he is an incredible player. But that is why he will be a record sale.

If the offer is £60m, Albion will easily get that in the summer whatever happens. So there’s only one option. Bench the kid until he sorts his life out. These agents seem like morons. So obviously written by them. I’ll give Moises the benefit of the doubt and think it’s such a shame that a young guy can be so easily manipulated to make them rich. Can’t back down on this one or every player will be doing it the second they get a sniff of a transfer.

We let clubs walk all over us so I’m sure he will be gone. The entire coaching staff left only a few months ago in a matter of days after being linked with Chelsea…
It's different with a manager. Firstly, we had a figure for his release, but more importantly, if the manager wants out you can't just put them in the reserves for 6 months. If they want to go, it's done. It's not like that with a player. We don't have to accept a bid for him.

If Caicedo is paid as little as the plastics believe he is then it’s not like benching him will put much of a strain on our finances either!

I’m still wondering if this is cock up rather than conspiracy. Someone at his new agency has jumped the gun and might well have jeopardised the move.

Sacked in the morning.
The agency is tiny. I can almost guarantee one of the Spanish co-owners wrote it.

Oh well, we could all save face here.

Sale to Arsenal (or whoever) with a loan back to the end of the season.

Player gets his payrise, BHA get £100m.
Sorted.
😉

It does look like an accidental post..as the name Moises at the top surely wouldn't usually be posted?
I was hoping we would keep him until the summer as a minimum, he has transformed results since coming in to the team a year ago. Massive shame if he goes now, pulled apart in January by untold wealth to keep us in our place....

No, this is not Tony's fault. It really goes without saying that this would have still happened had Tony not made that comment.

My feeling, and it's been touched on by some, is that this isn't a 'let me go' post, it's a 'i'm gone' post. Feels like the deal is done from the wording.

Wouldn’t get this shit with Alex Oxlade Chamberlain…

I was thinking the same. And he's sat there watching Trossard playing tonight.

What an absolute crock of shit this all is. Although to be fair we all thought that after GP and our entire coaching staff left and that turned out OK.

Just can't help but think we won't keep getting so lucky as to keep bouncing back from setbacks fine though - especially this one at this point in the season

Has this level of pillaging of one club in such a short space of time ever happened before!? It can't have done. It's laughably ridiculous!
I think there was an article last week comparing us now with Southampton a few years ago. I think they got done pretty bad season after season

I can well understand why any footballer would want to grab a chance at the earliest opportunity. It's all well us saying just wait but they may look at the chance of injury or something worse like Mwepu. To them it's a job.
Really? No one is saying that footballers shouldn’t grab a chance at the earliest opportunity, but what really gets every football fan’s goat is the way they go about it. In Caicedo’s case the sheer hypocrisy surrounding this stinks. One minute it’s “Brighton have given me my chance and I will stay with them” blah! blah! , then it’s this mind boggling Instagram post basically shitting on the club and stating I’m out of here.

Aside from all of that what springs to mind is the sheer stupidity of it all. By waiting until the end of the season he, and his agent, could have had any number of clubs actively interested rather than pushing through this sordid request. Oh, and what happens if the club decide he’s not going regardless of the money being offered? A large serving of humble pie and egg on the face I reckon.
