I think you're probably right. Scored a very nice goal to make it 2-0 and thought match won. Hopefully a harsh lesson learned.

Reasonable theory, but his body language once the goal goes in doesn't suggest he was beating himself up for getting it wrong.

Let's remind ourselves of the game where Wieffer gave away the ball as we STREAMED forwards in numbers to kill the game off. In hindsight, of course, we would say "don't over commit" but it appears very much to be the managers mindset that we should take the opportunity to kill the game with another goal if a counter is on. I don't mind that one bit. Sure, it'll go wrong sometimes but more times than not I think it's a good mindset to have.

That's not to say he's saying "don't bother defending". I'm just agreeing with your proposal here. To me he is thinking of the huge gap left back the LB bombing on.

Either it's his managers instruction or a 19 year old has made a mistake. Either way I managed to sleep last night.

Took his first goal well, but he could have squared it to either Welbz or Mitoma and guaranteed the goal.
In a similar way that Vardy did for the equaliser.

But having said that we already have enough players deferring responsibility for having a shot.
So maybe we need a bit of a selfish player to balance things up.

Firstly, the guy is entitled to celebrate the goal however he chose. We were 1 up and needed a 2nd which we all hoped at that stage would be enough. He's also been out with an injury so of course he's excited.

That said, I'm still not convinced by him. Yes he scored but it did seem to get a couple of lucky touches of the defenders as he eventually went around them and finished nicely. However, earlier he had broken down the wing and tried to flick the ball inside to particularly no one and it only went a few yards to the Leicester defenders. His decision making is poor, very poor. I know he is young but Gruda is streets ahead. Minteh is a prospect but he needs to learn fast.

Serious question here: If Gruda is streets ahead of him atm, why do you think he's not getting the minutes? Is it because Fab felt we needed pace more than anything at that moment in the game?

You'd need to ask Fab that. I've told you my opinion and that hasn't changed just because Fab brought on Minteh. He managed to eventually get the ball in the net but can't think of anything else he did that was successful, whether that be when he broke forward in a good position and lamely flicked the ball a few yards or when he was tracking back and let Vardy have a free run to score! Sorry, are you saying that Minteh should have been marking their centre forward? We were still playing a back 4 at that point, what were our 2 x CBs and our RB doing at this point?

Quite, too many blaming Minteh who scored what should have been the winning goal and then defence f***ed up for two goals. Blaming Minteh is being VERY selective and rubbish. Young kid who did what he was bought to do, the chasing back and defending will come with experience, but blaming him for the goal? Joke

Thanks, I wouldn't say I agree with Fab necessarily. I'm genuinely interested to know what people, including yourself, think is the reason Gruda is not currently ahead of Minteh. Presumably Fab rates him (Gruda) or he never would have been signed.

To be fair, Minteh was tracking back with Vardy but then slowed down! I don't blame Minteh for the defeat, it was the team but that doesn't mean that people can't identify mistakes by individuals! What do you think Fab and the analysts will be doing post match?
