Millwall after Glenn Murray

can't see how Millwall could afford him

Exactly - they aren't better resourced than us are they.

If he goes, it would surely be to somewhere like Norwich. If you were Lambert and you were being quoted £5m for an under-contract CMS, wouldn't you figure Murray for free was by far the better option.

Either way - sign up Glenn, nowhere is better than here.

Millwall and Derby are both sniffing around him aren't they?

In Gus we trust though. And we'll be in the box seat, as he's settled here and we're going to be in a far more powerful position than Millwall next season.

Lazy journalism. "Traditional-style centre forward". No he isn't.

I do know however that Murray has been told his contract will be discussed at the end of the season, rather than now.

You'd perhaps expect him to keep his options open, as he may well get some attractive offers. But I can't see speculation that Millwall & Scunthorpe are after him turning his head greatly.

Are we? They have good finances, a ground similar in size to Falmer and a squad doing well in the top half of the Championship.

Millwall are not 'loaded', or at least Berylson has spent virtually nothing this season. It's practically the same team that won the play-off final (which in itself gives me a lot of hope for our prospects next season, even more than how Norwich and Leeds are doing). They have also had one or two successful loans along the way. They basically had a good League One squad, and many have made the step up, I can see the same happening with us although Gus may be given more reinforcements than Kenny Jackett had.

If we stayed down, it might have been a good move for Murray. If we're in the Championship, it doesn't really make sense to me unless Millwall suddenly start throwing money at wages in a way they haven't done this season.

They do need strikers though. Morison is on a lot of people's radar, Harris is basically past it, and Lisbie isn't good enough any more.

Murray would be stupid to chose Millwall over us. They've had one good season in the Championship but I reckon they'll finish bottom half next season with the Albion finishing above them in the top half. Come on Gus give him the money he wants and sign him up !

Millwall sports village, apparently the company planning all of this is still to obtain agreement with the football club, looks ok though:

Love to know where this Yank thinks he can build anything round there.

If Murray is such an important player for us (and he clearly is) it is a massive risk what we're doing. Of course, he may end up signing after all. But even getting to the end of the season is a risk. Goalscorers come at a premium, someone could easily make the club and Glenn himself a silly offer. Why risk that if he is such a key member of the team?

I can only assume they have a revised, increased contract offer drawn up which will be put in front of him the day we mathematically clinch promotion. Personally, I'd give it to him today.
