HTML isn't a scripting language. You're thinking of JavaScript....

You'd need to find my ex to ask that question to though, Juan.

It is interpreted line by line by the browser though is it not ?

HTML is a language by definition - HyperText Markup Language

I personally don't have a problem with the word "script" to be used alongside "HTML" - do you ?

Ah, but intrepreted languages do not scripts make

Java isn't a scripting language. A better example again is Python - its interpreted line-by-line, but its not a scripting language.

But he didn't say that HTML was a scripting "language"

I could try to convince you the error of your ways, but as someone who still writes all his GUI code by hand, in a 1997 era version of CodeWarrior just because they're used to it, I dunno if I should bother...

Win.Forms SUCK though

By Win.Forms are you referring to the desktop development side ?

Yep, crap - I only develop using the web forms.

That "error" has bought me a very nice property in London..

.. shit where did I go wrong ?

The joys of programming for an OS used by 95% of the users... and 99.95% of the tech idiots, unfortunately (the other 0.05% use the Macintosh, based on their user forums)

Before .Net I could try to scare you by telling you you'd be screwed marketablity wise if MSFT died, but noooo, Novell have to screw that up by making Mono and hence .GNU meaning that every goddam OS out there can run .Net applications...

Ah well. I'll stick to BeIDE for the moment, thanks....

Win.Forms are the encouraged method of interfacing to the GDI under .Net, even if you are writing a VB# application - which is NASTY, as they're designed for C#

I presume you end up with ASPX output? Meaning you're locked-in to running on IIS6.0?

Even ColdFusion isn't that bad, vendor lock-in wise. Hell, theres even an Apache/UNIX version of the FrontPage Extensions...

A little bit of honest advice for you, irrespective of how clever you are, the quickest way out of the door is to piss people off.

However good you are at your respective career, they are always people better at stabbing people in the back.

Try to show other people a little bit more respect, and you'll succeed.
