Was Mitoma's line the longest?
Japanese fans lined up just for taking photo with Mitoma tapestry put over a pillar of the stadium before Japan vs. Uruguay
I was not there but, as per tweets from fans, there were no lines for the other players ... ;(

Wow, that's surprising.
Japan loves a photo next to posters/billboards/memorabilia of their idols. Mitoma is dominating his peers. Ohtani is next in his sights!
Kaoru scored the opener for Japan vs. Colombia 2 minutes into the game!

I was just reading through this thread, and saw this quote and even though it is completely out of context and not even relevant to the thread, I think the last week or so has shown that just maybe, we have...
As a Japanese person (I'm Japanese), I remember Tim Cahill's headers very well. I mean, Australia also belong to AFC (Asian Football Confederation) and Japan often play against Australia too. Cahill's headers were scary for Japanese football fans. It seems both Tim Cahill and Mitoma are 178cm. Mitoma has shown some impressive headers this season. I hope more will come this season! Edit: He used to be playing as a wing back till recently and he was not playing inside the penalty box much. So, basically, he was not given the opportunities to show his headers. Mitoma's headers might be his secret new weapons
The defender is 182cm and Mitoma is 178cm.
Edit: This is one of Cahill’s headers against Japan (Japan won by 2-1). Cahill scored 50 goals for Australia and 5 of them are against Japan, including some headers.
