No. No one would. Not one single manager. Thank GOD for McGhee. Where would we be without him?

Somewhat better off than if we'd signed Rosenior the last time round???

Or Dowie because he'd have been on his toes by now as well

Fantastic, so that's sorted then. No viable options, so whether you like MM or not, time to shut up and accept he is here to stay for a while.

my response was to the statement

"It leaves us next season with 3 players that potentially we will have to pay and McGhee will not play"

and not to "who has McGhee fallen out with" (although I can;t imagine Maheta is too happy about how his English jaunt has panned out :jester:

Erm, yes you did... i asked about who he has supposedly fallen out with to which you replied about not seeing eye to eye with the manager and then went to say about three players.

If you are talking about players that just aren't good enough you should have made that clear and then gone on to mention the others that obviously aren't.. Breach maybe ??

Take your pick

Tony Adams- Great work at Wycombe. I thought he gave up after that cock up
Colin Addison- Didn't he get Scarborough relegated from the FL
John Aldridge- Well, we might get a good cup run
Alan Ball- Don't fear the reaper.
Dave Bassett- Doubt he'll ever take a no.1 job again.
Paul Bracewell- Squandered Al Fayed's dosh
Phil Brown- How shite were Derby early season?
Craig Brown- Ditto Preston season before
Alan Buckley- Almost took Lincoln out of FL. Average at Rochdale
Steve Claridge- 11th choice for Millwall job. Lasted 28 days.
Frank Clark- Potato head. Started the rot at Forest
Neale Cooper- Couldn't get a good Hartlepool team out of League 1
Alan Cork- ok coach. shit manager
Tony Cottee- You what! Stick to Sky
Keith Curle- Not proven.
Ramon Diaz- Was worse than Rix at Oxford. Quite an achievement
Wally Downes- Cheap. Couldn't get Brentford out of League 1 though.
Terry Fenwick- Almost relegated Pompeyscum to league 1
Trevor Francis- Had Millions at Palace.
George Graham- Yeh Right
Eddie Gray- Did nothing at Leeds.
John Gregory- Would never take it. Not exactly proven at lower level.
Paul Groves- Must have missed his scuccessful managerial career
Mick Harford- Never managed for more than 8 months cos he is crap.
Paul Hart- Possible. Would he take it.
Colin Hendry- Ditto Paul Groves
Chris Hutchings- At Wigan
Kevin Keegan- Wouldn't take it. Only ever worked with big bucks
Steve Kember- HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Andy King- Couldn't get a good Swindon side up. Crap tactician
Joe Kinnear- Doubt he could deal with the stress
Nicky Law- Got Grimbsy relegated twice.
Craig Levein- Shall we consult Leicester on this one?
Ray Lewington- OK choice. Teams tended to play crap football and were inconsistent
Alan Little- Where are York these days?
Lou Macari- Took big clubs with big stadiums backwards
Mick McCarthy- Big Risk. Doubt he's apply.
Sammy McIlroy- Got Stockport playing at this level didn't he?
Lawrie McMenemy- Is he seroulsy still looking for work
Neil McNab- Basically relegated Exeter.
Gary Megson- Couldn't hack it in League 1 in a much financially better set up.
Paul Merson- It'd be a gamble.
Jan Molby- Worked well in conference and league 2. Would he take it.
Ronnie Moran- He must be, what, 80 now?
Phil Neal- Ok for Bolton at this level. 18 years ago. Is he really looking to manage?
Martin O'Neill- oh look a soaring swine.

Carlton Palmer- With a packet of sweets......
Tony Parkes- Backroom man. Bottled it big time as number 1 at Blackburn.
Alain Perrin- Merci
Kevin Ratcliffe- Took Shrewsbury out of the league
Peter Reid- Would never take the job.
Bruce Rioch- How long has he been out of the game?
Leroy Rosenior- Close call last time. Lets not tempt fate

Peter Shreeves- Took Barnet out of the FL. Did wonders at Sheff Wed!
Alan Smith- Countless relegations at Palace.
Graeme Souness- Wouldn't take it. Thank God
Nigel Spackman- Pundit at the very best.
Brian Talbot- Got Oxford playing like a shower of cow dung
Stan Ternant- Possible. Though didn't do too well With the Pikeys did he?
Chris Turner- Couldn't get Wednesday up. Similar traits to MM
Terry Venables- OF course. Why didn't someone mention it before. He's the one! :jester:
Gianluca Vialli- We can dream. Or have nightmares over this one.
Berti Vogts- Whats German for preposterous
Chris Waddle- Penalty coach maybe
Mike Walker- Potential. Would he take it? Is he really still looking for work.
Dave Watson- Relegated Tranmere
Howard Wilkinson- 20 years ago maybe.
Martin Wilkinson- Sorry, but his CV would be first in the bin.
Bobby Williamson- Closely followed by his.

Just a small selection of football managers currently registered as "looking for work"

Okay that's a shortlist of 3. None looking more promising tha MM.

Next!

I want Holloway as well.

He would take us up next season if he had the Summer to prepare.

Holloway is despised by most QPR fans, definately ot a good dea. Rosenior is available. Having been sacked for nearly takingTorquay ut of the league, good choice NOT !

Not unlike his previous pro-McGhee articles, a lot of words without many real arguments. Amongst that, his case is:

He's loyal,
He's played youth-teamers,
He's tried his best.

Hardly a convincing argument. Would be much more interesting if he actually addressed any of the numerous charges against McGhee, rather than throwing in a vague blanket "Everyone makes mistakes ..." rebuff at the end.

:lolol:

Indeed they did get relegated, but it was like the situation with Coppell and us. He did a good job, it was his predecessor that took them down.

Exactly. It's arguable he could do a better job than McGhee and had a good record at this level with Burnley but is it really worth the risk?

I think the point is could he do better than McGhee? Both have a relegation from the Championship on their CV and both have promotion to the Championship on their CV.

Do you want to swap a brick for cuboid shape lump of clay?

McGhee should stay and try and shape a squad over the summer that will be play off certs. I think he's more than capable of doing that and should be given the chance. But he must be allowed to sign a decent, proven goalscoring centre forward. If he hasn't got us in top 6 by end of October then maybe think about a replacement but until then he gets my qualified support. If he was to go...my choice would be Danny Wilson. but I'm sticking with McGhee, for now.

Doesn't matter what manager we had we would have gone down this season. Why? because we tried to stay up. We went for wingers and for that we needed a forward. Didn't get one until too late. Not McGhee's fault. After staying up last season he would have been crucified for playing the same way this season. For god's sake look at your message back in August! Some of you thought we'd be challenging for the play-offs.

Next season it's all abotu development and if we are around the play-offs and keep the young players and MOST IMPORTANTLY start work on the new ground then that will be a successful season. And McGhee's done nothing to suggest he can't do that.

I'm tired of listening to all the arguemnts of supporters who see their dreams instead of the reality so I'm not going to comment anymore.
