It looks like the contract offers are obviously going to be pivitol, not only to our survival chances for this season, as was mentioned earlier re player motivation if they know they won't be offered a deal, but also long term for the Club as a whole, 'cos if half the players out of contract refuse new terms and leave and heaven forbid Falmer is turned down or more delays prolong the agony, the players would never stay if Falmer isn't given the OK and we all know what would then eventually happen to the Club.
Firstly there must surely be a real chance of doing say a Stockport or MK Dons where we would probably start to slide down the leagues, then how long would it be before the Fat Lady starts to clear her throat and sing sad songs of bankruptcy and closure!

Surely then its almost like sh1t or bust and the contract offers to the players that Mcgee wants to keep should be made so attractive that they will want to stay for the forseeable future one which could be very short if Falmer is turned down or glorious if its yes as apparently money would come in from all places from people wanting to jump on the Falmer bandwagon!

The Club would surely die as has been stated so many times if Falmer is no, so what the hell, whether we offer 500 or 5000 quid a week the end result would be the same in a short space of time, so if the worse comes to the worse lets at least enjoy seeing some decent players playing for the Stripes.
However if as we all hope and pray and Falmer is given the go, we can all look forward knowing that, the futures bright, the futures STRIPEY!!

He is doing well with the financial hand that has been dealt to him, but fantastic? Saturday again showed sone of those irritating traits he seems to have, of either playing people out of position or tinkering with the system. I know with Cullip suspended a 5 man defence was unlikely, but going back to the 5 man midfield that was tried, with little success earlier in the season, was not really the answer, in a game that we needed to win. This also meant that Leon went in midfield, when with Claridge up front, it might have given him the chance to play with a target man who knew what he was doing.

*Waits for the shooting down for saying something against McGhee*

Spot on...

* Shot not fired *

Does anyone ever leave Oatway alone??

Its his job to win the ball back. That's it!! nothing else. he is hardly going to beat 7 players and curl one in the top corner is he?

Why is he always the scapegoat? its funny how he has played under 5 managers since coming here and they all picked him at one time or another.

Get rid of players who we don't need and haven't played at all this year, Watson, Beck, Jones, Hart etc.

I think Oatway is playing OK at the moment... that said, he needs to win the ball AND play a pass to one of his team-mates... has consistently failed to do this during his time here... as said, not doing so badly at the moment tho'...

IS Leon as good as some people say, should we sell him and get someone weho is going to get goals.

i cannot get to Withdean a lot but he has hardly set the league alight this year?

*await to be shot down in flames now*

We need to keep Leon... he is our best striker, IMHO... and how would we replace him?...

I agree we need to keep leon but despite what he has said publicly I don't think he gets on with McGhee. If McGhee signs a new contract I don't think Leon will.
