Exactly this, however for peace of mind it would be nice to have some clarification on tickets.
Any sleuths out there who could look on Marseille, Ajax and Aek’s ticket website and see if they’ve blocked out a certain section of the stadium?

I’m top tier and bought flights and hotel as soon as the fixtures were confirmed. Why wouldn’t you if you’re top tier?
Have they announced the LP threshold for the top tier for this game then, or do you simply have so many points that you expect to be top tier? Many might be on the cusp and not sufficiently confident to book travel and accommodation yet.

Found this in relation to Liverpool at Ajax last season

Just had a look on their website. You can buy a match pack for €50 along with their game vs. Le Havre.

It then says something about selling your ticket on the exchange if you can’t go and are a member.

No map yet. Will keep looking.

Or at least book refundable hotels. Totally Refundable flights are a different matter and can be pricey, but some airlines have decent rates where you can change, if not cancel. Lots of options available.

Good sleuthing!

2600 is roughly equivalent to Fulham last season.

Can’t think every T1 will register interest- I know a few who aren’t - so likely to go to day 2 or possibly 3 but not beyond STHs

Rose is the chosen drink in the south of France although what the people of Marseille drink is anyone’s guess as a lot aren’t French

According to the 2019 census 89.1% of the population are French. Rose it is.

"The average temperature in Marseille in October for a typical day ranges from a high of 69°F (20°C) to a low of 56°F (14°C)."

I can see the med, and a terrace with an ice bucket and rose every time I close my eyes.

Old work colleagues from the Marseille area used to drink a lot of Pastis. Cant say it's one I enjoy..
I spent a lot of top notch holiday time in the Languedoc ( Capestang ),. . regular 35c + temperatures,.... sitting outside a local bar, in the shade, enjoying Pastis and water is a heavenly treat, perfectly designed to manage the heat.

On the TGV from Marseille to Paris as I type this after going there for 2 RWC2023 games. Stayed near the old port area, no trouble, beautiful area full of quayside bars, restaurants, museums etc.
Great metro system, if taking it to the game get off at the last station Sainte-Marguerite Dromel, easier access to stadium, and on way back it's the first station so no full trains you try to squeeze onto.
Try and stay about 5+ stops away from the stadium as metros were full as they got closer with no room for anyone to get on. Reccommend taking the Eurostar, change at Paris Gare De Nord to Gard De Lyon then straight down to Marseille.
Around 7 hours in total from St Pancrasm
Enjoy!

Having said that, I once went to Andorra v England in Barcelona (mid March) I sat in Las Ramblers during the afternoon watching English fans turn up in flip flops and shorts while I sat in my sensible top coat and hat. During the match some still in their beach wear had to endure damp mist, drizzle, the cold wind and a shite England performance.
