People mocking our own supporters for essentially defending themselves is something that bothers me.

I get that, but defending themselves is different to bouncing around shouting abuse back at a bunch of twats.

The problem/issue as I see it is that if things had got worse as a result of the posturing, those folk would probably have not been seen.

In my experience people only really defend themselfs when they have something to defend and no choice but to defend themselves. Those without responsibility, without a vulnerable person with them, tend to be the ones that start/encourage it and/or leg it when it becoems a problem - nothing keeping them there you see. Self preservation kicks in.

I can't remember Marseille causing trouble in England before. Which is why I'm surprised some wusses on here are already running scared !

Mate of mine was telling me a story about the police liaison officer from Marseilles visited the Amex at the Athens game and the first question he asked was “ where are the fences kept”. When he was told that we don’t have fences, he was incredulous that we thought we could contain the Marseilles fans with a few stewards. Seemly he just looked at the safety team and gave them a gallic shrug!

In the last decade, Marseilles have played at Liverpool, Chelsea, United, Arsenal and Man City. There will not have been any fences at any of them.

You'd imagine so, they watched us nearly the whole time we were there so don't see why would be any different this time. Plus the city is extremely residential all the way up to the ground so would have been easily spotted regardless.
