So Motherwell finished on 38 points from 38 games and were third from bottom of the league, be interesting to see how they do next season...

In the end he lost the dressing room (seemed to fall out with some of the younger players) but the season he kept us up was as good a managerial performance as we have seen for a long time, imho.

I can't get it out of my head him and Bob Booker were got rid of as a cost saving exercise though.

I wish him well.

Some would like to shake him by the hand.
Some would like to shake him by the neck.

His neck always looked inviting to me!

Good luck to him but i feel he will never make a top flight Manager as i understand that is his aspiration.

Mark McGhee is the best manager BHAFC have had in the last 10 years, better than Micky Adams, better than Peter Taylor, better than Steve Coppell, he was treated absolutely appalingly by the board and fans of BHAFC and it is a shameful episode in the history of BHAFC the shoddy treatment served to a manager who lets not forget, got promotion in his first season, kept the club up in the championship in the second , went down in the 3rd when the board did not back him and give him money to spend, was doing ok in 4th season when sacked. He gave total support to Falmer and honoured his side totally but was shat on from a great height for no good reason at all. The biggest error in the 35 years I have been supporting the club. Motherwell have a superb manager, you should be very happy.

There, there.

Also I would say during the pre-season of 2005 he got more money than most Albion managers have, just it was not spent brilliantly.

Having read this thread, It never ceases to amaze me how history is re-written. According to some Mark Mccammom was a goal machine, McGhee was useless (We were all thinking that at Cardiff, Palace, West Ham and Tottenham) and that Leon Knight was a mangerial failure who just needed an arm around his shoulder. When you look at how long Leon played under McGhee and how long he lasted under any other manager at any other club, one could argue he was actually one of McGhee's managerial successes.

Whilst it was time for him to go I really don't get why some people hate him so much. If he had left the season he kept us up in the Championship he would be regarded in the same bracket as Adams and Coppell. Yet to some, he is less popular than Simon Jordon.

Best manager since Lloyd.

Hounded out by morons who have remained tellingly quiet during Wilkins' very unimpressive tenure.
