i feel comfortable in my views i dont feel any need to ask you your views on the subject but thanks for the offer and hope maybe to see you on the march.

Myself, I will be sitting at the Brighton & Hove St George's Day Charity Luncheon (I am on the organising committee, it's prudent that I attend), eating roast beef, Yorkshire Pudding etc, listening to fine English after-dinner speakers, raising money for local charities before waving St George's flags and singing 'Jerusalem'.

And not a hint of 'loss of identity'.

But if you want to celebrate St George's Day and England - with an air of protest and negativity - go right ahead. I'll pass thanks.

But he/she does know that "Das Reich" was part of an SS division.

perhaps he just likes big butch boys in leather boots?

For those interested in such things...

The SS Division Das Reich was one of the thirty-eight divisions fielded by the Waffen-SS during World War II.

It served from the invasion of France and took part in several major battles on the Eastern Front, before it was pulled back to France and took part in the fighting in Normandy, the Battle of the Bulge and the last, desperate fighting in Hungary and Austria. The division is most infamous for the massacre of 642 French civilians in the village of Oradour-sur-Glane, on 10 June 1944.

In other words a poster who proclaims his pride in being English has chosen as an internet name the title of a gang of foreign war criminals. Funny old world, innit...

the people who perpertrated the said crime were i believe brought to book after the war, saying that i would not say they were a "gang' but a battle hardend front line unit loyal to their cause be that right or wrong, well done on your research but dont throw that one on me

Your using 'should of' in place of the English expression 'should have' confirms that you're not English, Das Reich. But don't worry, you'll get the hang of the language soon, I'm sure.

And no, I shall not be marching in Brighton on the 27th. That's because I'm an immigrant myself. People around here are very friendly and welcoming, despite that shocking fact. But I'm sure they'll learn, in time.

Das Reich - just a quick one, but are you actually an Albion fan (a footy fan of any kind, even)?

Just seems like all your posts are about this "English Pride" (heck, there's an idea, you could join in with the other "Pride" lot) thing, and you don't seem to show much interest in the Albion.

You seem in need of some help on basic English.

When using the first person, i should be I. "There cause"should be "their cause" and "perertrated" should be perpetrated. Still, I assume you've not been in our country for that long a time.

I think I would rather gyrate, in the nude, on a pile of crushed glass with a large chilli pepper wedged up my arse, than march with a group of racist cretins hiding their xenophobic tendencies behind a 'celebrate being English' march.

That's typically kind of you, to help him out like that. I wonder where he's from...despite the name, I bet/pray not from Germany...

Also, erm, "Das Reich" *speaks slowly* in this country, we would normally say "battle-hardened", not "battle hardend". We also put a little dot - called a "full-stop" - at the end of sentences.

ive worked with plenty of poles and they are hard working, its just that their country is dictated to by the roman catholic church which has sent a lot of their youth on the way out of the country in the direction of the good old UK

Speaking as the descendant of Catholic immigrants from outside England, I'm afraid that this particular piece of nonsense prevents me from endorsing the sentiments being expressed by the organisers of the march.

Odd really, since I like England and feel rather attached to it.
