At least the new Lewes Road cycle lane is 8' wide - and adjacent to a traffic lane where cars, vans and trucks are banned.

The Greens have actually announced plans for a specific tax on cyclists/cycling?

Would be surprised if they didn't, as numbers grow its a captive audience and as such so far an untapped source of revenue.
