Can I have a refund on my MUFC away ticket, had OGS been manager I thought we had a chance of winning

A nurse/medical person (probably never been closer than 6000 miles to Old Trafford) who was removing my stitches a couple of hours ago professed an interest in ‘soccer’. He asked about my team, but was a little reticent in response, saying that his team were not doing so well. I joked that he must be a United fan and began laughing. Wasn’t a good idea in hindsight! :lolol:

Thoughts and prayers for their next manager...

People are going to be surprised to see how little of Uniteds problems that are down to Ole.

It’s a bit of both. Clearly bigger issues than just OGS as recruitment has been bizarre at times. Strengthening in the wrong areas and have an incredibly lopsided squad. He is also tactically poor. Has no idea how to get a team playing as a team and has no clear way he wants them to play and relied throughout on individual brilliance. Their goalkeeper even said yesterday they don’t know what to do with the ball. I do think other managers could get more from the squad at their disposal and I assume the board must as well.

Posting his speculation as fact. 'Ban' was an ironic exaggeration - didn't expect anyone would do it, but emphasising that posting false news is a bit meh.T

And - just to repeat what I said before, which you seem to have been unable to take on board - yes, I do expect ManU to sack him .......... BUT IT HASN'T HAPPENED YET! OP thread is incorrect - 'Gone' he is not.

Tell you what, stick your life savings on him staying. I'll take the bet happily.

De Gea saying 'we don't know what to do with the ball' and 'it's embarrassing' seems to me that the players just don't like or want to play for OGS.
In my opinion 2 of those Watford goals looked very suspicious to me and could have been saved.
Maguires 2 yellows in 7 minutes for ridiculous fouls also raised my eyebrows.

The idiots who were stupid enough to appoint him in the first place should resign.
What happens to the people who were responsible for this:

He was then given the job full-time in March 2019 on a three-year deal and in July signed a new deal until 2024.

Damn! Was enjoying Man U performances this season.

There are some serious problems with that squad TBH, I doubt anyone new is going to pull up too many trees with it.

Why did it raise your eyebrows? We know Maguires bang average on a good day!

Wonder how they are going to solve it until the end of the season. Not too many options available in November usually, think they might just go with another interim manager.

As I see it he was intended as a short term manager to take the squad back to a happy place after the Maureen misery spell.

Then he had a few recent sporadic spells making replacement him awkward.

Now they appear to need someone to get them playing as a team. I hope it goes wrong and that Fred keeps playing.

Yep

'Manchester United announces that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has left his role as Manager.

'Ole will always be a legend at Manchester United and it is with regret that we have reached this difficult decision. While the past few weeks have been disappointing, they should not obscure all the work he has done over the past three years to rebuild the foundations for long-term success.

'Ole leaves with our sincerest thanks for his tireless efforts as Manager and our very best wishes for the future. His place in the club’s history will always be secure, not just for his story as a player, but as a great man and a Manager who gave us many great moments. He will forever be welcome back at Old Trafford as part of the Manchester United family.

'Michael Carrick will now take charge of the team for forthcoming games, while the club looks to appoint an interim Manager to the end of the season.'

A number of Ferguson's ex players have gone into management. Have any of them been any good?

I can think of:

Ince, Bruce, Hughes, Robson, Giggs, both Nevilles, Scholes, Keane, OGS. I'm sure there must be others that I've forgotten. None of those have been very good.

Have others gone into management overseas and had success?

So much for announcing to The Stock Exchange first? Still, no surprise really, he could have gone any time in the last month.

Hughes has had the best career in that he has had good periods of success at some clubs before it all went wrong.
