There it is again. The good old tactic of dismissing anyone who presents an alternative view as a crank/weirdo/nutter.

Are you familiar with Starkey?

Onto something positive.

How’s Germany looking with regards to travel and holidays?

I saw that there’s an alliance with Austria and the Czech Republic to allow mutual open borders for all travel and holidays.

With the head of Tourism planning for Balearics type holidays to be feasible this summer. With a pilot scheme starting in late June including TUI.

Looks promising for you.

Indeed. Too many people won’t accept an alternative scenario to the lock down narrative was an option thanks to the extreme fear porn pumped to the nation by mainstream media though.
Just another nasty neo liberal do as I want and **** everyone else rentagob.

I see David Starkey has found the last person who actually listens to a word he says.

Twaddle. My work involves identifying a range of different views, and consulting them. It's usually best to find the best exponents of certain viewpoints, and Starkey isn't one of them even by a long way. He's just an archetypal, petty rent-a-gob whose output will be sidelined as soon as the media stop giving him a platform.

He is a right wing, neo liberal, historian. More famous for having controversial views rather than having particularly interesting to say. Glad you found him.

Just another privileged **** everyone else I'll do as I like commentator who sees the lock down as "health and safety gone mad". Add to the list Allison Pearson, Toby Young and numerous others.

None of them have anything to add scientifically on a global pandemic unless you are sucked in by something with a posh accent and an education in a completely unrelated subject.

It's clear to anyone with half a brain cell that testing and tracking gets us out of this. That unfortunately frazzles their neo-liberal brains too, so their only solution is to let a few hundred thousand die.

It helps when he isn't challenged by the interviewer. Within minutes of the interview he states something as "an exclusive" which is complete bollocks. Did you spot it ?

Professor on radio4 just now saying we’re well behind other countries setting their self isolating symptoms list. He was saying things like loss of taste and smell amoung others have been added to the list of Covid symptoms, and yet we’re relaxing rules BUT not updating the symptoms list.

Good stuff. What's even more frightening is that the country is now being run by two of these specimens - Johnson and Gove. They've done f-all in their lives other than been given a platform by the right wing press to air their views. What makes it slightly worse is that Gove's missus is still doing it. We've got a journocracy.

Basically it seems to be a way of limiting the number of tests they have to do (at least until the testing capacity is properly ramped up). The FT last week was reporting people being refused the test if they had loss of taste/smell.

Still people are parroting Prof Ferguson’s nonsense. He said 80,000+ would die in Sweden. Has that happened? No. Nowhere near.

How many cancer patients will die because of this lockdown? And how many old people will give up the will to live?

Not to mention the economic devastation that’ll cause death and misery for years to come. And for what? A disease that so far has killed fewer people under 40 with no preexisting morbidities than are killed by lightning each year.
