That's what I'd have thought (being fully aware that I'm not knowledgeable about these things). That doesn't really make sense. Either you have the virus or you don't.
i'm not joining in with histrionics
that's because they're all dead.
Indeed, sense of humour alive and well..
:d
They're being tested again tomorrow.Again?
I agree, over the last couple of the days the numbers of people being recorded with having coronavirus has come down in China, however it is still very early days.
I'm not joining in with histrionics, but are you really suggesting that there's nothing to worry about because one person hasn't died from it?
This is what the Singapore PM said today and is almost certainly where China is now and where we are headed. This would also explain the drop in Chinese numbers if they are following this strategy. They are only counting severe cases now.
Straight from the Prime Minster's Office
"If the numbers keep growing, at some point we will have to reconsider our strategy. If the virus is widespread, it is futile to try to trace every contact. If we still hospitalize and isolate every suspect case, our hospitals will be overwhelmed. At that point, provided the fatality rate stays low like flu, we should shift our approach. Encourage those who only have mild symptoms to see their family GP, and rest at home instead of going to the hospital. And let hospitals and healthcare workers focus on the most vulnerable patients, the elderly, young children, and those with medical complications. We're not at that point yet, It might or may not happen, but we are thinking ahead, and anticipating the next few steps. And I am sharing these possibilities with you, so that we are all mentally prepared for what may come"
Is this good or bad, I'm so lost on this now.
This virus has got my anxiety so bad the Mrs and my mum recommended I see a doc, so I did and they've signed me off work and given me propranolol. I'm just worried as have an 11 month old child that I'm worried I couldn't protect if they got it, also my mum has severe asthma and my sister has travelled through China in last 2 weeks so I've been a wreck. Just hope this passes
One of two things will happen.
You’ll either get it. Or you won’t.
Carry on.
One definition of “flu” has always stayed with me and that is; “If you are in bed and there is a £50 note by an open window which could blow away, without hope of retrieval, and you can’t be bothered to get to it, then you have the flu” Anything else is a bad cold. What any strain of flu does, to be deadly, is attack those already in ill respiratory heath, those with compromised immune symptoms and the very elderly. The difference is that we already have vaccines against known strains of flu, but not against this one. It will come but not without significant casualties.
Yeah I don't think it's working. He passed it on to at least 11 people. Obviously there will have been people he didn't pass it on to. And he didn't die, so he'll be one of the 98% (or so) who don't die from it.No. I am saying that the person who caught it in Singapore has completely recovered. I have also posted that someone who he was in contact with hasn’t caught it from him.
As you say, there is some hysteria, so I thought I would try to add some balance.
If you're hoping for an end to the human race, it's great news!Is this good or bad, I'm so lost on this now.
Seriously? If you are being serious, chill the **** out. Stop reading up on it, stop looking at the media who are sensationalising it as they have papers (etc) to sell. This virus has got my anxiety so bad the Mrs and my mum recommended I see a doc, so I did and they've signed me off work and given me propranolol.
Just have good hygiene habits.I'm just worried as have an 11 month old child that I'm worried I couldn't protect if they got it
She should also be hygienic.also my mum has severe asthma
Perhaps don't have her round to see holiday pictures just yet, and perhaps suggest that she doesn't come home and see your mum straight away.and my sister has travelled through China in last 2 weeks so I've been a wreck.
Like the 33-year-old Chinese doctor? What any strain of flu does, to be deadly, is attack those already in ill respiratory heath, those with compromised immune symptoms and the very elderly.
