Yes. Now that WAS criminal as they knew they were peddling lies. Was the Church involved in that one as well?

Not sure. President Mbeki was of the same mindset toward it all as her though. A Harvard University study had it at 330,000 premature deaths as result of their attitude to ARV's and 35,000 births of babies with HIV that were preventable - https://www.hsph.harvard.edu/news/magazine/spr09aids/

Predicted that only 1 in 19 have been tested.
Were only picking up 1 in 3 cases.
So far estimated to kill 1% of those infected, which is considerably more then season flu.
Government must take the blame for the outbreak in this country. Absolute disgrace borders wern't closed 4 weeks ago and even now Gatwick are not screening passengers arriving from Asia.
Total denial and naivety from people in charge and in this country. "It's no worse then the flu" rubbish, Flu does NOT kill 1% of the people it infects. I think it's about 0.02%.
WHO now saying this is "the worst enemy imaginable" and yet have NOT declared this a pandemic and say there is still a chance to contain it, garbage!
It's almost as if people in charge wanted this to become a pandemic

There are kids in isolation from Balfour school and Varndean. Took my kids to Balfour this morning and attendance was probably at 50%. But, if you keep kids off school, where does it end?! Do you keep them locked in the house for weeks??

The fear continues but nobody has commented on my post where Steve Walsh who caught it in Singapore, has recovered.

It’s like you only want bad news!

Exactly - it's the same as 'normal' flu - dangerous for those in a vulnerable condition!

In the case of Balfour parents as per my post above, I suspect it's a good opportunity to get their kids away early on a half term break/take the day off work in to have to look after little Johnny!

Yes the type of people I see on my Facebook talking about keeping kids out of school, will no doubt be out at about at the weekend or be taking their kids away for an early half term break...

I think the mortality rate is somewhat worse than flu for those not in a vulnerable condition isn't it? The Chinese Dr come whistleblower was 33.

My kids go to a school (not mentioned on The Argus website) where a member of staff has been told to self-isolate. In the email sent to parents they wrote "The member of staff is not showing any symptoms and has not been in direct contact with anyone diagnosed with the virus." So basically a day off then.

So from your stats 1 in 19 have not been tested.

What if 15 of those 19 have contracted it and none have died, that's a zero % death rate. So this increases considerably the amount of people who have or have had it which also brings the rate rate down massively.

Quite, it gives skivers a perfect excuse to have two weeks holiday without the need of proof.

1. Visit a supermarket to stock up with 2 weeks of food and drink
2. While at supermarket talk to an "oriental person".
3. Ring boss, "I was in close contact to somebody in Tesco yesterday who has just returned from a holiday in China"
4. Relax and sit and watch Netflix and porn for two weeks

I think he was bombarded by the virus by being in contact with so many who had it, this can apparently increase the life threatening risk substantially.

Sydney .
Stockmarkets are by their nature, forward leading indicators.
Chinese stocks reached the panic stage just over a week ago when they fell 8% in one day.
They've now risen for 7 days straight, reversing those losses - confidence that the worst fears won't eventuate and this virus will be manageable over the longer term.
Virus...what virus ?
