It looks like people are already (quite rightly) taking you to task for your ignorant comments here. I suspect you’re one of those ‘uh it’s just a flu mate’ guys laughing at the warning signs back in early Feb.
To add to what others have said I’d suggest taking a look around the country and the world right now. Have you not noticed anything?
Entire sports have been cancelled. Cities globally are on lock down, entire industries have been laid off, schools shutdown. This is history. Completely unprecedented. If you disagree and feel otherwise please state any similar crisis years post war, I look forward to your answer.
Make no mistake, the global economic fallout of this is as dangerous if not more than the virus itself.
Oh and comparing numbers to flu is also very naive at this point. This epidemic has only started, not even peaked in Europe yet
Wonderful. We are supposed to be returning home next Tuesday and not a bit of food in house. Got a delivery set up for following Monday but not confident that much will show up.
I might try and persuade Mrs to stay here. We might be in lockdown but people are generally behaving well and food shops are pretty well stocked.
It will likely mean we don't get home for several months and our travel insurance expires but the prospect is looking more appealing by the day
People do need to calm down. The vast majority of the population are fit and able and Covid 19 will not affect us. The vulnerable need to go into isolation and let us look after them.
Those who are fit and able need to be out there, keeping the economy going, exercising, socialising. Self isolation does not apply to the fit and healthy. Covid 19 will not affect us. Be aware of hygiene, help the vulnerable but keep living your lives.
Calm down.
How would you feel if your ignorance gave the virus to an elderly friend or relative and they pass away? Those who are ‘fit and able’ for socialising are the most important people who need to adhere to these measures, I can’t believe people still don’t seem to understand that. I’m not a bed wetter or a worrier but I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if I passed the virus on to someone more vulnerable and the worst happened
He is right.
Too much "poundshop racketeering" going on.My relatives in southern Italy are under lock down, but shops are well stocked. Don't know what FK is going on here. May be we have too much choice and people are buying stuff they will never actually eat.
In what way?
It’s not the end of the world. Most people will be largely unaffected by the virus itself .
However, I know Bozza doesn’t like this opinion so I’ll head off now before I’m banned.
Calm down. Get a grip. This will pass.

The e-bay generation have seen a money for nothing opportunity.
I would stay if you feel safe as it seems Spain is able to cope much better than the UK can at present however hopefully things will calm down shortly.

You’re being completely irresponsible that’s why.
I completely agree that, health wise, most people will be unaffected by the virus but that’s not the point.
The virus spreads quickly through those people and soon reaches people it does affect. Health services become overwhelmed and people who shouldn’t die, do die.
Are you completely blind about what’s been going on in Italy? Young fit people carried on socialising and brought the virus home to kill their parents and grandparents.
You may not interact with vulnerable people but somewhere along the chain of transmission someone will. To advocate young people keep on socialising is reckless.
Beyond that, many of us may be fortunate enough to be low risk, but no one is no risk. I’d like there to be capacity in the health service should any of my young and fit friends or family are one of the unlucky ones requiring hospitalisation.
The vulnerable are self isolating. How would I pas it on to them?
You must do what you think is correct. I shall continue to go outside, breath fresh air and ignore the panic and scaremongering.
And no, I’m not trolling.
There is no reason, if you are sensitive to the situation that most of us can’t carry on pretty much as normal while things remain open.
My wife is a teacher and just been told she is a key worker and will have to be in school, also been told all holiday for her is cancelled. We have kids of our own that will now be put in a situation we would rather avoid.
You must have been severely affected by the virus, either that or someone has hacked your account. You usually lose you shit over things, but your posts of late have been calm, measured and make sense.
I agree with what you are saying.
