Fair enough. We all have different viewpoints. Just that some of us are less willing than others to sacrifice our more vulnerable loved ones, and those of our friends, neighbours and people we never met, on the altar of the ideology of Herd Immunity
Sorry Tom, it’s not a viewpoint, it’s not a choice, you have this conceptually wrong.
The human race has no immunity to this virus, none.
The human race has no medicine to cure this virus.
The human race has no vaccines to prevent this virus.
Herd immunity isn’t a choice, it is the only way millions of people including many of the vulnerable will survive. You make out some of us are less willing - it’s no way to look at it, because every tactic is about slowing the spread, delay the infection rate. BUT every single country, the world in fact is relying on natural immunity to combat this at this point until medicines and vaccines are developed.
Actions of other countries may have consequences for them further down the line. Everything is now about time:

You're entitled to your opinion
YAY to our Best Science! Obviously far superior to all of our near neighbouring countries Best Science!

I think you’re challenging whether our delay tactics go far enough, but you’re confusing that with criticising the overall goal of herd immunity which ultimately the entire world is aiming for. Now whether the UK is doing the right things on delay is a matter of opinion. And maybe they are or aren’t, however as previously said to you, herd immunity isn’t a choice, it is now a necessity.
Same as most other countries really
No civilised state allows its country to become saturated with a virus just to build up immunity in the already fit and healthy. You're just condemning large numbers of vulnerable people to death for no good reason a6t all. It's cruel and unneccesary and I for one expect far better from my government

Is it bollocks. But then you're alright Jack

What delay tactics? Wash your hands and stay at home if you are unwell seems to be the limit of it.
From the BBC Liveblog
"A group of Dutch scientists believe they’ve found an antibody that could help to detect and prevent the coronavirus from being able to infect people.
It hasn’t been tested on humans - a process that will take months.
The researchers at the Erasmus Medical Centre and Utrecht University describe their discovery as an antibody to Sars2, the coronavirus causing the current pandemic (Covid-19).
The scientists were already working on an antibody for Sars1 and when the new coronavirus broke out, they said they had found that the same antibodies cross-reacted and blocked the infection.
Their findings are still being reviewed and the antibody is yet to be rigorously tested.
The researchers are hoping to convince a pharmaceutical company to support its mass production as a medicine which they believe would detect and prevent the spread of the virus."
