Whilst I was in the car this morning,I heard an interview on LBC between James O'Brien and London Mayor Sadiq Kahn, neither of whom are usually complimentary about Boris Johnson. However Sadiq, when specifically asked about the actions of the Government in handling the outbreak, stated that he believed they were handling the situation absolutely correctly and according to the advice from the Chief Medical and Scientific Officers. He also stated that he was in daily contact with the CMO.Even smug old James had to admit he was reassured by all this, including the reasoning behind why this country hasn't necessarily taken the same steps at the same pace as other countries.
Worth a listen for some on here, and personally, it was good to have a pretty candid view from someone removed from Government.
The irony was, that whilst, Labour Mayor, Sadiq Kahn was supportive of the Government, Rory Stewart, wannabe mayor and ex Tory minister reckoned they'd got it wrong!
Funny old thing, but perhaps good to see that blind tribalism doesn't always rule.
