and that dodgy looking bloke in the corner shop...I'm sure hes a muslim.. his turban isnt fooling me.
Did you actually read the story Soulman, or did you go with 'knee-jerk' ?
The year 2014 is nearly upon us.
And yet in these enlightened times there are still people on here (mostly through a misguided servitude to political leaning and political correctness as opposed to common sense)who feel not only the need to protect religious dogma but also blindly defend outdated religious thinking with the deluded idea they are being tolerant and progressive, defending the right of certain sections of society to promote ideas that are simply divisive and that have beliefs that should rightly have been consigned to the dustbin centuries ago.
It is plain to see who the fools are in this debate and they are trying very hard to take over the asylum.
Merry ****ing Christmas indeed

Yes. Which is why i gave my opinion on it.
I may be wrong here but have Muslim shop owners not been selling bottles of wine, cigarettes and packets of bacon for the best part of 50 years in this country? and thankfully they'll all be open in the morning to get the stuff you forgot today.
A four pack of Stella and a packet of bacon makes an ideal last minute Christmas present.
an M&S spokesman said: “We recognise that some of our employees practise religions that restrict the food or drink they can handle, or that mean they cannot work at certain times.
“M&S promotes an environment free from discrimination and so, where specific requests are made, we will always make reasonable adjustments to accommodate them, whilst ensuring high levels of customer service.”
The spokesman said the policy applied throughout its 700-plus stores and to other religions as well.
For example, Christians who did not want to work on Sundays and religious Jews who chose not to work on Saturdays would also be excused.
what about the meek...?
Did anyone actually get refused service?
This isnt just about muslims.....its about M&S HR policies for their workers.
It is also there for Jews who would be possibly offended by handling pork products...it is also there for Christians, who do not want to work on Sundays etc..
To focus just on muslims is a bit daft considering the actual issue we are talking about.....
Well when i see Jews, Buddhists, Christians, Hindus, Sikhs etc etc, keep being offended at every opportunity and refusing in this instance, to serve products that are being sold in an establishment that sells these products, then i shall have the same opinion as i have now.
really? where was that? I missed that bit.
they were not 'refused service'...they were invited to go to a different till, im sure.
The policy was revealed after customers trying to buy pork or alcohol from a Muslim shop assistant in central London were told they would have to use another till because of the cashier's religion.
