Superb hold up play.
Lead the line magnificently.
Out jumped and out muscled two very physical centre halves and took his usual amount of punishment.
Brilliant turn and pass for the Barnes volley.
Clearly the most skillful player on the pitch.
Numerous flick ons that Barnes didn't take advantage of.
Second half miss - just got away from him when he'd done the hard work (unlucky)
First half miss - not a sitter

Absolutely nailed on MOTM

One of his best performances just needed a goal to make it complete. He now looks very fit and hungry and provided an excellant ball for Barnes to put us in front completely split the defence in half having spotted him in the first place. 2nd goal was a good cross from him that laid it on the plate for Painter. MOM performance.

This but would add I thought Painter pushed him close with his performance, which the goal rounded it off.

I'm not saying he did not have a good game, but certainly not M.O.M. How can he be when he missed two sitters?

Had Holroyd played like that today, you lot would slag him off for missing two sitters.

He once again today proved that he will not score 20+ goals this season, therefore not a top league 1 striker.

(i would love for this to be bounced at the end of the season after he does score 20, but it will not happen)

You've started a thread praising Barnes and one criticising Murray. Both seemed to have played pretty darn well yet you feel the need to have a huge contrast in your opinions of them. Definitely suggests you have a rather large chip on your shoulder about Murray

I don't understand why Murray gets the praise and Barnes gets the negative comments. When today Barnes which Murray has failed to do

The likelehood of Holroyd dominating the attack and putting the defenders under such pressure as Murray did today is very unlikely. Apart from anything else Holroyd wouldn't be physically strong enough to play like Murray did today.

I was actualy touching the fact that Holroyd would be given grief for missing two sitters, where Murray still gets praise

You're right. Murray was proper SHIT today. Get rid quick, before we're LUMBERED with him till Xmas

so glad we have dick head fans like yourself on board. :tosser:

Wasnt at the game today so wont comment just on today, but i really dont undersand the negativity to Glen Murray. The guy is a class act in this division. Yes he has the odd silly sending off and can miss chances but so will any striker in this divsion. But what really pisses me off is pricks shouting he is lazy at withdean. Most good strikers will graft and work hard in the right areas to be as effective as possible not chase after a full back like lunatic when there is a 5% chance of winning the ball. Put it this way, i would dread this guy playing against us.
Even if you dont think he was man of the match, leave the guy alone and appreciate the talent he has. After all we dont have a lot of alteratives!!!

Murray was absolutely class today, won every header and brought the ball down to feet, nailed on MoM. One of this best Brighton performances for me.

He gets praise because he played well, it doesent matter who scores the goals and it was Murrays good play that created the goal for Barnes. You are seriously wrong to think he doesent deserve praise when he plays so well reagardless of whether he scores or not.
