It's not the full 16 points for a win if an innings is forfeited is it? Thought it was 8 or 10 historically?
That's only if two innings are forfeited

Yes just looked at same source myself and am now more than a little dischuffed about what is happening at Southampton.
Still a possibility that Cider Boys will get to 200 and declare on the understanding we will set up some sort of contest as a result of what's occurring in the West?
Yorkshite 37-3
Doubt that we would want to - we are not going to beat Yorkshire at Headingly. It's all going to come down to bonus points. Hampshire are away at Notts, we will have to hope that they do not win that and we can get 2 more points today and keep up with whatever bonus points they get at Notts. Somerset are home to Warwickshire, so they should be winning that I would think.
Need to get Trescothick out and soon.
Trescothick dropped on 88

If we go down this season, it won't be because Yorkshire may have gone easy on Hampshire, it will be because, quite simply, we are shite.
Agree, and you could argue that we were lucky to get Hants and Worcester in our opening 2 fixtures before they'd settled into the season. Other than 3 wins against those two our only other win was completely down to that incredible innings (one-day slog?) from Katie at Hove in a game that looked lost (v Durham?). We deserve to go down, but I hope we don't...Irrespective of the role yorkshire might play in this - this from No. 25 is still very pertinent. Relegation won't be based upon these 2 games. We've been abysmal from game 3 until recently. If we go down, we deserve it. It will hurt, especially if Hants do win and we don't accrue any more points from our game.

Jim May being very diplomatic re Yorkshire situation but he ain't happy. He will be livid if they lose and we end up playing against Root, Bairstow, Plunkett and Rashid!
Yorks now 82-3.
Somerset 195-2. Hildreth 50* Marcus 95*
Just looked again at their team. No Sidebottom or the multitude of England players, and have Bresnan batting at 6 then it's Hoddy and a bunch of non-batting bowlers. No way they'd put that team out in a game they needed to win, so why now do a volte face and set up a last day result? It doesn't look very good from the outside, does it? Particularly when you're struggling at 97-4 scoring at little more than 2 an over with a long tail, why would you accept the challenge of scoring 300 to win in a day when you have absolutely no need of the points?
Really difficult to defend - even if they say it was for the fans and TV viewers, the charge must come back that if that was important to them they should have picked the strongest team available in the first place.
