They'll bat nearly the full 110 overs to avoid the risk of penalties I think...
Bugga Gayle gone for 125. 40 needed, 5 wickets left. Cmon Hoddy!!
Worse than that, they were forced to concede it!So, perversely, Somerset were forced to bat when by doing so they relinquished whatever slim chance they had of winning the match, AND the crowd were denied another hours' cricket.
Seems harsh. The likelihood is Sussex would have batted out the remainder of the session but if they'd lost even four or five wickets then that might have affected the confidence of the batsmen going into the crucial last match against the Champions starting in only 5 days time. In golfing terms Somerset have conceded Sussex a 4-foot putt.
Am I right in thinking 9 points against Yorkshire, no matter what Hampshire gets, guarantees our safety?
Hope that extra point meaning we need more than bonus points, doesn't make any difference!
Yorks toying with us the buggers. Now watch them pick half the England side next week....
Starting with Lyth and Ballance, that is us nearly at the first bowling point!
