An interesting podcast so far. I'm only halfway through ( it's 48 minutes long), and I no longer run a business.

However, he has already mentioned several things that resonate with the way I see trying to achieve weight-loss. Having been on a weight-loss programme 10-11 years ago ( kindly paid for by the NHS as my BMI was 30..! ), the various ways of achieving the desired goals are so many. It's often a case of finding one that suits. I shall listen to rest tomorrow.

And I'm still looking for more sensible suggestions and variety of healthy dishes from anyone.

This evening I will be focussed on one of the recipes El Presidente suggested the other day ( also The Hairy Bikers ? ).
From recollection, the first half was the bit most focused on weight loss, so you could skip the rest and not miss too much.

I had a listen, and whilst suspecting that he was gettting his steps in at times as tended to repeat some points perhaps a wee bit too much, the big takeaways for me were

1: Keep it simple
2: If it can be measured it can be managed, a great phrase that I've not heard before, which brings us back to tales of Guppy Saunders' todger once more.
Yeah.

When I had become properly fat a few years back and was on my "I need to get this sorted out" mission over the course of seven months or so, I used MyFitnessPal to track calories. In the same way Matt was describing, I quite enjoyed the gamification of that. Essentially no food was off-limits, I just needed to keep to my daily calorie target.

I particularly enjoyed it when I was working away from home. I've never really been one to go to a restaurant and ask for a table-for-one, so would generally head to a supermarket and, again, enjoy seeing just how much food I could gather for the evening and still keep to my calorie goal.

He can ramble a bit - his podcasts are unscripted - he just wanders around his basement, in which he has installed his own microbrewery, getting his steps up and just talking as he does so.
