Search only found firesticks but sure I saw a thread.
What is happening out there is horrendous. I've been watching a couple of channels on YouTube, kcal and fox11, and the pictures are of street after street of burnt out houses.
Yesterday they were driving around and every house was gone, burnt to the ground. Not a few but 100's. They superimposed satelite images of the heat showing where flames were overtop google maps and it was just an entire town on fire.
Last night a new fire started in the Bell Canyon area, from a spark to a wild fire in minutes, heading straight for a town. Watching the helicopters and planes douse it down from the air makes the dart players look bad, their shots were perfect. Stopped a fire metres from a very large house.
There was one error, someone sent out a text message to 'send to all' in the Los Angeles area to evacuate, oops!

These are 'normal people'. Yes, many celebrities have lost their homes, but 99% of these towns are normal, hard working people.

Maybe by saying Hollywood actor x has lost everything people can get some sort of idea it's a human. Saying burger flipping Joe Bloggs in house 14827 Somewhere Street means nothing.

The area probably needs to be rebuilt in such a way as this can't happen again..they need to incorporate firebreaks and build less densely and build small reservoirs/ aquifers dotted about the area.

These fires will happen again and a plan has to be built in to cope with that or the houses will be uninsurable

Not everyone in LA is a celebrity. These fires are a nightmare and I feel for the communities affected, and I do know some people living out there.

Because it demonstrates how this is a situation where, no matter your status or wealth, you are going to be in trouble if you are simply in the wrong place.

Some celebrities might be sad about losing their home and all the possessions in them because, you know, they are human and things like wedding photos, baby things, items left from relatives, memories made in those homes etc etc might mean something to them? Not everything can be fixed with money.

I get having "more" sympathy for those with less to their name. But to say "I do not care" because they have more money seems bizarre to me on a human level.

I just heard about the owner of a small record label that promotes new young Rockabilly artists many Latino and including the amazing Delta Bombers.
I have personally met Reb who is originally from Ireland a few times, he does not make a fortune, it is all for the love of the music and lifestyle.
So many ordinary folks have been affected not just the super stars.
