If you KNEW tax (or contribution) was being used to benefit you and your community and your children etc, why wouldn't you want to pay/contribute more tax? Since f***ing King John, the problem is that the rulers/establishment spend tax pounds on the wrong f***ing things!

The right wing individualist argument to this is that an individual’s money is theirs and the less well off will either have to work harder or rely on charity. The state has no right to an individuals hard earned income and tax is a sort of theft in their view.

She may have fielded 4 questions, but she didn't actually answer any of them. All she did was parrot the phrases she had rehearsed:

'I am determined...............economic stability..............difficult issues..........', with wooden hand movements.

Then, at the end of each answer, she didn't refer back to the questioner, to see if she had answered his question. After all that has happened, it was nowhere near good enough.

You forgot that most of our troubles are down to " Putin's Abominable Attack on Ukraine " according to Liz, she never fails to get that one in.... obviously this has drained the NHS of staff, caused a backdated rise in Food Bank use and 12 years of austerity... that she watched happen from a ministerial position.

I appreciate you have got pelters for your posts on this thread, and don't seem to care, which is admirable, and I'm not bothered by your wittering, but do you have a clear idea, yourself, of what point you're trying to make? Just idle curiosity, perhaps tinged with some concern that you may be having some sort of midlife crisis.

Edit - your take on the right wing view about tax is correct. There are swathes of noisy Americans who consider all tax as evil, and because they believe in God, have decided that the government is an instrument of devilry, and should be opposed with weapons. And this of course is where this always ends: weapons.

I am not a political person and know very little, but one thing is pretty clear this is a complete shambles.
Is there precedent for the government to throw it's hands up and in the air, and say you have a go then.

She was appointed PM by the queen on 6 Sep.
The queen died on 8 Sep, so from then until the queen's funeral on 19 Sep, Liz Truss had her hands tied with state funeral stuff. She didn't really have the opportunity to cock a lot up until after the funeral.

But from 19 Sep onwards, it was all cyclone Liz - a mini-budget, market turmoil, a U-turn, a scapegoat and bus lined up, a sacking, a new chancellor, a new plan. Has the cyclone passed yet? Does Liz admit to doing anything wrong? No and no.
