Stand down from what though? She's not an MP, and to be honest I'm not quite sure who she is representing or what she's doing!
Good point. I'd forgotten she lost her seat.

And so...yes...why are people paying her to speak?

Weird.

Grifting.

Appearance money in the US.$$$$

I not sure who’d pay her in this country to spout off anymore?

Rishi gave Elon Musk a fawning interview. Clearly KS has told him to do one hence the internet "war"

Truss is part of the whole culture war probably branded in parts "They sacked her as she wanted to change the way the country operates" Not because she is incredibly dense. It's worrying she still has a voice of sorts.

I heard a few clueless yanks on Radio 4 around the time Truss released her so called book.
All saying we didn’t give her a chance and we didn’t understand her vision.
Why does BBC give these cranks airtime?

This has always been the problem with "balance" in interviews and views. It's easy to find someone to fight the good fight but not so easy for someone to argue the dog shit. Step forward professional grifters Hopkins, Fox and Truss.

They know the game and what they are doing.

Yep. The BBC also tries so hard to appear balanced that they tip over to the other side.

It’s one of the few failings of a corporation I greatly admire. But it’s quite a biggy.

There is simply no need for the Foxes and Hopkins of this world to be used for balance.

We don’t give flat eathersairtime. Because they are insane. Like Truss et al.

There is a thread on here suggesting that NSC is either too left wing or right. Similarly, the BBC gets accused of the same. You've got to doing something right if that's the criticism that's dished out.

I agree though with what you say. Extremes shouldn't be aired (on either side) as balance. Times radio is as good as gets. They get both sides of the coin but not too extreme and each able to argue the point in a civilised fashion.albeit they did get Andrew Neil in during the election.

Absolutely. But still a worry why we couldn't expel those (not genuine refugees) who came here illegally. Whoever was/is in power, still a worry. No? Or should we just be open house to anybody, welcome or not?

Just how unrealistic and stupidly idealistic do you want to be?
We do expel those whose asylum claim is refused. If it’s a country that we can’t return them to, it’s to a country of their choice. The biggest problem was not processing the claims at all. Hotel owners etc were pocketing the profits.

Yes, so not dealing with them then.
