Is it me or is it really quite hard to get 10% month on month?

They seem to have designed it very carefully.....

Indeed spending £250 in a month at Lidl is pretty hard without a huge family or big middle aisle spend.

Grab a load of these when they're available, decent value.

I find there offers/app not worthwhile or too much hassle..as I’m busy loading my bags before they disappear off the two foot of counter space allocated to the ‘bagging area’…give me Clubcard points like Tescos any day of the week

On a side note I’ve always found the cashiers at the Shoreham Lidl a good bunch

You basically have to spend £250 in a calender month and then when you breach the £250 you only have 7 days to spend the voucher.

Anyway, unless you're a £500 a month spender (takes some doing at Lidl) it requires a bit of planning. Ideally shop at the start of the month, then again week 3 and a small top up at the end to breach £250. Then start again at the beginning of the next month within the 7 days.

Easy to get out of sync and then it makes the 10% hard to use or you had to use too early and it doesn'yt count till the following month. Well thought out in my view, reckon most won't end up using it.

I actually think people are starting to leave the discounters and are returning to Tesco, price gap has narrowed and more choice

In my defence, I was left unsupervised.

Slightly O/T, but where possible I've stopped shopping at the Co-Op. They long ago stopped paying dividends to their members (but still show you your dividend points), then in January they stopped paying rewards (which was 2p in the pound on co-op branded stuff). I don't know what they do with all their profit as the 'Member Prices', which replaced the Rewards scheme, are risible.

I've got the ASDA app instead. Got over £10 on that without really trying.

If you bought 101 Deluxe steak and ale pies at £2.49 each, and stacked them nicely in your chest freezer, the job is a very good one.. so I am told.

The savings from using Lidl or Aldi are still huge imho. I got lazy during the pandemic and used the likes of Sainsbury's, when our spend was £ 3-figures more per month than now.

We do still buy a few fussy things from the others.
