I heard this morning that Arsenal are not looking at Lewis Dunk, they're monitoring Liam Bridcutt :(

The ridiculously under-rated Andrew Crofts.

The principle difference is that Wilson / Bridcutt are playing in the second tier for us, and are hence (rightly) given higher status, Crofts didn't do that.

But Crofts and Bennett are now playing the the Premier League. Bridcutt has yet to achieve thayt

and what about the players who played for us in the First Division.

It's always one way or the other isn't it?! Things are either as perfect as they could possibly be or disastrously shit. Is there a more reactionary poster on this board?

Thats my World. There is no middle ground. Sometimes I just wish I could be " normal ".

This kind of thing... f***. We need to get promoted this season at this rate or we'll lose everyone!!!

That said... any of our players that go should go at a decent price, and the feelgood/gus/amex factor and all that should keep a good rotation of new bodies coming in... these players are our favourites and rightly so, but if any go they will go at a price that'll benefit the team to the tune of two players of near-equal (but less visible to the prem teams) talent.

f*** though we need bridcutt, dunk and vicente to all stay forever. promotion this season then, failure not an option!!

Having watched BHAFC, Man and Boy for 36 years now I can categorically say that Liam Bridcutt is the best midfielder BHAFC have had since Brian Horton in the late 70's.

He is that good.

Bridcutt is premiership class now. He could walk into several premiership teams now.

He is worth around £ 5 000 000 at the moment.

He is BHAFC's best player.

Superb.

How would you rate him in comparison with previous BHAFC midfielders over the decades ?.

Ha ha ha, your kidder....Robert Codner??

Bridcutt is a terrific midfielder.

As were Curbishley, Wilson, Bennett, Crofts, Sidwell, Case, Horton, Penney, Gotsmanov, etc.

Comparing players between different ERAS is a waste of time. Impossible to compare.

Great player though.

Vicente? (I know he is officially a winger, but also plays midfield, and up front)

It's obvious already that Vicente wouldn't be out of place in the top premiership sides, so you are of course right, even though he's only played around 1 hour for us so far.

 Bridcutt better than Vicente. Some people on here make me laugh. Yes, Liam "Chelsea reject" Bridcutt looks quality for us, most of the time, down at our level, but I'm not 100% convinced he will be an integral part of a multiple title winning side, with major domestic and earning European honours and some 40-odd caps for England by the time he is Vicente's age. Dear me.

long way to go for bridcutt to be put ahead of nobby for me

a couple of skilful players we've had, frank worthington, well past his sell by date, but still head and shoulders above everyone we had back in the mid80's
and gordon smith, apart from the obvious f*** up,superb player

Got rightly bollocked by Gus after Leeds' first goal though. Although that was probably the first bad thing I've ever seen him do, or more specifically not do.
He played a significant part in first 2 Leeds goals.

Massive over-selling of our Liam I'm afraid. A fine player but you can't compare him to Horton, Case, Wilson etc until he's done it in the top division. Give him another couple of years though....

He was at fault for two of the goals against Leeds, yet still turned in a MOM performance.
You realise that's not possible by the way?

Sergei Gotsmanov

One minute playing for his national team in the European Championship Final and the next, driving a shiny lada Riva into the Godstone ground to play against Bradford City in Division 2.

Why not? A goal takes up a few seconds, leaving 89 minutes for Bridcutt's performance to compensate. What if a player scores a hat-trick and is responsible for the two conceded in a 3-2 win?

Of course it's possible.
