This must be the 12th window in a row:

- that club sniffs around a Brighton player = means he must be leaving - cue 1000 page thread speculating what happens if this happens - but then he doesn't. Rinse. Repeat. Next window.

Bloom doesn't sell first choice players.

Not since Bridcutt and Buckley. Departures now are on TB’s terms.

I'm led to believe that LD won't go THIS window.

I'm sure I'll be lambasted if it all goes belly up but I understand there's ongoing discussions between certain parties concerning release clauses should the appropriate offers be tabled.

As far as I know this is the delay with certain players contracts and assurances of who goes/stays.

Very interesting to see how it pans out.

Good source? Although what you’re saying is a little vague... name names?!

What if they want to leave? What if they've been at the club since the age of ten, have been the best and most inconsistent player for years, the reason we're in the Premier League, our player of the year again, and our captain? Surely, if they want to leave because they will earn twice as much money, because they will be in the Champions League and have a better chance of getting more England caps, surely then you let them leave?

Obviously he might not want to leave, and Chelsea might not even want him. But sometimes you have to let players leave.

Of course and he might - my point here is that as fans in threads like this, we overstate the likelihood of players leaving and the often baseless reporting speculating on that and underestimate by far Bloom's desire and success at keeping his man.

I totally agree.
There doesn't seem to be any real evidence here. I blame him calling his dog Didier for all this. That's the story and why it keeps resurfacing (i hope).

Yea.

And also Bloom said a couple of times this season "we havent sold many players but that will change". One of his goals is, from what I understand, to build a sustainable club, meaning that at some point a good player will need to be sold every now and then.

I think the appointment of Potter and the investments in the academy is part of a plan to turn the club into the Ajax of England. Producing and improving players while also improving the team and funding it through selling one or two of the best players every summer and compensating it with clever scouting and great youth development.

Can't replace him, no chance we will be able to get anywhere close to a like-for-like replacement for a supremely underrated finished article such as Dunk.

If he did go, which I now doubt, then we would need to use the funds to improve significantly in other areas of the pitch.

No they are not.

While Brian Owen is on holiday the argus have parachuted in someone from HQ who just repeats internet rumours from other sites.

You need to wait for Owen's return before bothering about what the argus says.

Can we all stop what we are doing and immediately source and confirm Brian Owens whereabouts on his Instagram to draw conclusions based on what he’s doing (photos of dinner, hair cut, house hunting, drive way standing) whether there is any weight on this story?

Dunk may leave and if so he deserves it if he wants to go. However, a couple of random bored people on twitter and the sun are not exactly the most trustworthy sources. I think it's unlikely Chelsea will be interested in a 28/29 year old who probably only has a couple of seasons left in his prime. They have Zouma, Tomori, Azpilicueta, Christensen and Rudiger they'll need to shift a few. Their top priority is a left back, then they'll probably look at a centre back. They'll probably go for a more glamour signing and a long term vision rather than a quick fix. Suprised they didn't take up the Ake buy back clause but they're also linked to Upamecano, Koudibaly and a few others as well as Dunk. They are also trying to replace Marcus Alonso with a younger replacement and he's around the same age as Dunk. Furthermore if we lost Dunk we have three of the best young centre backs in the country in White Webster and Clarke so it's not the end of the world. However, I am still 70/30 he stays until a bid has been confirmed.

Letting Dunk go to Chelsea also makes sense for GP and Tony, we won't hold you back from a top 6 move. GP & Tony will find it even easier to entice real talent, so come to our club we'll develop you and give you the exposer you need, you just have to deliver on the pitch for us.

Maybe take for granted just how good he is sometimes, a damn site better than many CB's inc David Luiz and Harry Maguire........ that block at 7:35 is nuts.

I get your point but I don’t think we take his ability for granted. Wasn’t he fans player of the season with about 75% of the vote?

Sorry don't believe that for one moment. Age isn't on Dunk's side. If he is off to a big club he needs to go now and for us to collect a good fee for him. If Chelsea have bid that much he will be sold. It's probably his last chance of a move like this.

Watching that vid on Dunk makes you realise how good someone needs to be to replace him. Ben White maybe that player but Dunk has been doing it for 3 seasons in The Premier league, White has a good season in the Championship behind him, the Premier league is a gigantic step up lets hope we can keep both.......The teacher & the pupil

Yep, hasn't let me down before.

I'm sure it'll be well known round Bromley way soon enough :lolol:

Not hard to figure out names tbh.
