You are of course right, you used to Brian Talbot, then Brian Owen (both good guys cutting their teeth at The West Sussex County Times) now you have some media high fluting media girl doing the internet trawling effort. Poor very poor

More chance of a Naylor soundbite, announcing that Lewis Dunk takes his dog to a vets called Wise & Bonetti

We talk to Lewis Dunks cat groomers husband and discuss what happened with THAT incident involving a jar of marmite, join the athletic to find out more.

Naylor is back so hopefully will confirm today or tomorrow if talks are being held with Chelsea !

Last time I remember him commenting on a potential transfer so soon after returning from holiday was when he rubbished the idea that we would sign Craig Mackail-Smith. I'm pretty sure it was an hour or two later that he was confirmed as signing for us.

Perhaps they haven't got the new club number

You jest, of course, but any journalist worth his/her salt given a temporary brief to look after news about their local football club would have the press officer's number (or know how how to get it) and have got a quote from him (even as 'a club source'). It's a massive discourtesy to their readers on the part of the Argus to run this sort of unsubstantiated story.

It's not just the one though is it? 2 on White 1 on Duffy 1 on Dunk and 1 on Molumby all absolute rubbish, crap and not worthy of printing. Not one with any input from the club. The Argus and this girl should hold their heads in shame

The line about Dunk's absence from the promotion material is the giveaway as to where some of this Sun story came from - ie here on NSC. Dan King's father-in-law is a season-ticket holder in WSL and has no doubt passed on the gossip.

Amazing.

Brilliant.

Someone starts a dodgy rumour on Twitter, it comes on here, The Sun report it with a bit of made up fluff, the Argus say "according to reports" Chelsea have bid what The Sun said, NSC takes this as confirmation and the rumours gather strength. Presumably, if The Sun have nothing better to fill a column tomorrow, they will report "local paper reports Chelsea interest in Dunk hotting up". All basically based on the same original load of bollocks.

Am I close?

Bromley been quiet ;)

So you’re saying the clubs are negotiating about a future possible transfer but not for now and this window? Just find it weird if clubs do this sort of thing as so much can surely change and Chelsea are after a CB for now...!

Just somebody stirring don't bother entertaining it.. Had the exact same shite last year and the year before.

I know some posters disagree but I don’t think the promotional material means anything whatsoever. They’ve just mixed it up and freshened it up - you don’t need the same player splashed everywhere every season.

The full interview with Molumby is here - it’s quite blunt (hes 20 !) but it effectively says I will work hard to prove to Potter he should have me in his squad or otherwise he should send me out on loan again . Given he played 40 odd games in the champ last year then fair enough.

Seems fair enough to me. The Argus are starting to piss me off at the moment. That and the article about Ben White and Liverpool. They seem to be trying to stir things up.

Guaranteed Dunk was only not in the promo stuff for the new kit because like you say they want to keep things fresh, and also in a year when we've had all the BLM protests the club will want to show diversity in who represents them. Nothing to do with him potentially leaving the club. The photo shoot for the kits would have been done months back, long before any of this transfer gossip.

Yeah I thought something similar about repping the kids and diversity and the psychological aspect of giving Bissouma that boost etc.

Only thing I've been wondering is if the Lamptey and potential Dunk move is related in any way, since they may have been talking in January.

No idea. Just a thought.

Love the straight talking! Really hope he does break through this season.

Bit surprised he said he wasn’t getting any feedback from the club until the new contract in March though considering we employ someone specifically to look after the players loaned out.
