So then... which player (apart from Murray, we all ****ing know that he should have kept him, and one day you never know we might all just move on from that...) would you have signed with the exact attributes you have mentioned, who is affordable?

Or are you going to go ****ing on about Murray for the rest of your life?

If I had 18 months, a scouting tool where I could watch virtually every game in the world, and new that the target man would give me a great chance of promotion, then I'd make sure I could name ALL of them.

As it is, we take an interest in the likes of Chris Wood a week before we play them when Gus starts watching tapes of our opponents.

It's a shambles.

Seriously, do you ever say anything positive or are you the most miserable person on earth? Murray left for Palace because they offered him more. This time last year it did not seem a mistake. Maybe he would be top scorer with us or maybe Palace are playing more to his style now and he would not have been great here. Who knows? It is boring that a year and a half later people are still going on about it.

It's BORING going on about it because it's BORING watching Gus dick around in the transfer market.

How many managers take TWO YEARS to replace their best forward? Jesus CHRIST

So you know that for a fact, do you? You haven't got a clue how the striker search is going. For all we know we might sign someone tomorrow, at the end of the month or not at all.

Either way, as far as I am concerned Gus has done a good job. He has made mistakes as all managers do. Murray leaving is probably one of them but I didn't see many people saying that this time last year. Even if you accept the mistake, going on and on about it is not going to bring him back here so what's the point?

I have a clue, from Gus talking about short term loans (which he always says he doesn't like), and the fact that he's so far got us the likes of Paynter, Vokes and Dobbie, who've all been a roaring success...

I don't want to go on about it, but the incompetence displayed over this particular issue, which I feel is the difference between mid table and promotion, has me absolutely raging.

If you don't want to go on about it, then don't. I find it very hard to believe that you are still "raging" about it a year and a half after it happened.

As for Gus' comments, I assume it relates to his comments last week about not being able to afford to buy British strikers. A proven Championship striker costs more than we could afford. As a result, we have to take risks. His judgement was that Murray wasn't worth the money he asked for (and a year ago most people agreed) but that Hoskins and CMS were. CMS has done okay and now Hoskins is fit, hopefully he will show his worth. Dobbie may yet come good too. If not, you can never get it all right.

To my mind, there were three main tasks in the summer for Gus - more solid defence, create more chances and find someone to take those chances. He has managed two of those pretty impressively with some brilliant summer signings and hopefully he will find the player to complete it in January. If he fails to do that, I am confident it will happen in the summer. There is no point getting too wound up about it though.

Raging about a football clubs failure to land a new player, someone needs to take 5 minutes and chill

That's bullshit. I heard it was actually Tanno who went to find it.
