Seems that Rushden have done the dirty (full story on petition site) and are not letting the wee man play again. All very wrong no matter if you like him or not.

Seems a bit wrong, tbh. If they've extended his contract, he should demand the wages he's 'due'.

Seems fair enough to me, he f***ed them about and got the sack so they are f***ing him about.
They want £30k in compensation which is fair dos and if enough clubs start doing this to players it might start them to think about what they do.

So extending his contract when they have already sacked him is fair (for which he don't seem to have much argument)? Pretty good case of restraint of trade I would have thought

Surely this is crap. How can you extend someone contract without their concent? Also surely they must still be paying him a wage, if this is the case.

This would appear to be wrong in Contract Law. If you are sacked, how can your "employer" exercise a right to extend your contract? If he acted in breach of his contract and was sacked, I can't really see how that didn't automatically cancel the contract in the first place, but certainly the option to "extend" should no longer apply.

I would have thought the PFA would be taking this up for him with or without any such petition, as this is just wrong.

Leon is really letting himself down on that page. Real dissapointment. I think R&D have really mugged him off, but he shouldn't be acting like that.

No way to get them off his back. No way an adult would act. Shame.

Easy 'Councillor' 10 :lolol:

He might need more than a councillor...Oliver Kay, football correspondent of from The Times is all over it now....
Theres some fairly outlandish claims on there he might find himself having to back up.

Was the £30k in cash documented in R&D's financial accounts ? ???
