I think we should all know by now (like it or not, I’m not a big fan of it) that Potter is in PR mode in his match interviews.

He will not comment too much on anything controversial and he will certainly not be super critical of players. He’s a politician saying platitudes in front of the camera basically.

Not saying that’s right or wrong, but we should all know this by now.

politician? he's a boring wet blanket on camera

Burn was sold short first half, why was Solly allowed to attack down the front right? Burn was left with a quarter of the pitch to manage.

True. Didn't make sense putting Solly on the right and the tactically and defensively unaware Jahanbakhsh on the left, offering no support or cover for BDB. IMHO, like.

That would be like Darren Currie taking over.

Ex-Seagull but only managed so far (did well though) with Barnet in the National League. Took them to the play-offs but fell out with the chairman.

Sorry, I thought mistakenly that the post referred to Steven Gerrard ! :)

I thought from the VAR picture his head was ahead of the ball and therefore offside, it was only shown briefly I'd like to see it again.

Not that it made much difference but why isnt that offside?

I feel a lot of people are pinning their hopes on the next two games and will be very disappointed by this time next week.

This isn’t just losing to Leicester. It’s 6 wins in 36, it’s 1 home win in 2020, it’s being one of the most wasteful teams in the league while also being one of the easiest to score against.

My prediction for the next week, for what it’s worth, is that Fulham will be an open game. They’re a bit like us, but they’ve tightened up defensively in recent week. They’ll also be bang up for it. I’d say it’s 50/50 as to whether we will lose or draw. We won’t win. We don’t do wins. Then we will lose against Sheffield United, I’m certain of it. They are exactly the sort of team we will fail to break down. But instead of taking the 0-0, their situation means they’ll have to go for the win at some point. Put me down for 0-1 now.

❄️ Merry Christmas! ❄️

My prediction is that we'll give them both a spanking.

Watching MOTD now. At 0-0, Schmeichel makes two saves that I wouldn't have backed Ryan on current form to make. then Leicester score with a goal that I would have backed Schmeichel to make.

Game over.

'They were a little bit too good for us'
Leicester 3-0 Brighton

Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton boss Graham Potter, speaking to Amazon: "Disappointing. The box is where it matters and Leicester were better than us.

"We stuck at it in the second half but clearly over the course of the 90 minutes not good enough to get something from the game.

"In the end they were a little bit too good for us and sometimes that happens.

"That is our 12th game, we are quite early on in the season so we have a lot of time but we know we are fighting to improve, fighting for points. We are going to keep humble and keep going."

Potters comments fighting to improve wtf

We don't come across as very fighty!! Neither Potter or the team.

There’s a Palace troll all over this thread but it isn’t him

In the face of your utter incompetence, Palacefinder General has been retired from active service. Palace fans continue to fill your boots, you’ll be fine if Guinness Boy is on moderating duties.

I don’t think Graham is really up to it, he’s not tough or seasoned enough - it’s showing, we’re all at sea.

It’s beginning to look like he’s losing the dressing room... we’re a chaotic shambles.

What a load of rubbish! Who would you rather have as manager? Sam Allardyce?

He’s trying to embed a whole new way of playing, both attacking wise and defensively. It’s like turning a ship in a canal - it might bang the walls.

I’d prefer to take the time to get this right as we will become a very good team. If you can’t envision it, offer alternatives.

The first half was fundamentally disappointing but this sort of reaction to fire the manager is total f###ing b###ocks and you’ll need a waterproof mattress cover, you bed wetter. Get with the extended programme.

Agree with most of this.

What annoys me in the moment in games like this is when our best player, Bissouma, is taken off with 15-20 minutes to go. I know it's extremely unlikely that we'll get anything from the game, but my word, if that was other teams in the PL, I swear they'd be trying to score. Instead Yves gets taken off (presumably to prevent cards/injuries), but in that moment you know Albion have given up believing they can mount a comeback. Gross is still out there. No Trossard. It felt like I wasted 45 minutes of my life in that second half to see Albion's closest attempt being an overhead kick from Maupay and two long-range shots from Bissouma because everybody else was afraid to shoot.

Something is going wrong with the players they don't look like the same people who battered Newcastle and Manure and stayed in the game against Liverpool.

Bissouma is on 4 yellow cards and we were 0-3 down. It made complete sense to protect him from suspension or injury for a potential 6 pointer in 3 days.

Unless this ends 6-0, Potter has one game left to save his job.....WIN at Fulham.

Embarrassing.

People need to learn that Leicester has about double our budget. Potter tried something and made a mistake on the left.

You wouldn’t have lasted a game in the 80s/90s/00s/10s. Four decades of “sack the manager!”

Teenager are we?

This is the biggest problem we have IMO. “We’re just glad to be here”. 16tn or 17th in perpetuity? I’d rather spend my Saturdays taking my daughter and wife shopping. Deliver on the top ten promise or **** off.

No, the biggest problem is the impatience of our entitled fans. It stymies development, extinguishes creativity, jumps on errors, finger points at the first possible opportunity, bad mouths every player, shows a new type of “support.” One which overloads on pithy deconstruction of each player’s ability. And then overlays that with Potter bashing.

Go and shop. You won’t be missed.

It only feels quite so bad because we then had to listen to Alex Scott's repetitive, ill-informed squawks on MotD2. If they want a female pundit who knows what she's talking about, get Chelsea manager Emma Hayes. Oh but of course they won't because she's not as telegenic as AS.
