Surely they should just promote youth players?

Just so.

I suppose I'd like to see Leeds survive, but not through dodgy deals and offshore shennanigans.

If they are rooking the taxman they are rooking us all,and the offer even of 8p in the pound is stunning cheek.Who will consider dealing with such a company in the future?

You want First Aid cover? B*gger off.

Are they going to pay their players their wages for last season yet? I can't imagine them putting up much of a game if they're not getting paid for it.

I should think it would go one way or another, they want to leave so they dont put in much effort or they want to leave and play well to attract other clubs?

I was thinking of Carole. He won't want to leave until he gets his £500K but he's not going to put much effort in until he gets it.

As much as I hate Leeds United, it would be sad if they did go out of business as they have far more heritage than Wimbledon. Leeds were fcuked over badly by the running of the club, and probably one man, Peter Ridsdale. Now, am I not mistaken, but weren't Wimbledon fcuked over by their board and chairman? So why does everyone have a nationwide sympathy for them and hatred for Leeds?

Its a slightly different case, When the Taylor report came out after Hillsbrough wimbeldon's ground was so far falling apart that they were better off ground shareing and build a new stadium rather than redevelope Plough Lane. The problem was Merton concil wasn't really helpfully and Wimbeldon struggled to get plans sorted, it came to a point that they only way there were going to survive was to build a ground outside of london

I do not know the legallity of it, but I am sure that someone on here will, if KPMG accept another bid and the HMRC are happy with the conditions and the repayments isnt that the end of it as Bates has said he has withdrawn all the conditions in his original proposal.

Does it not rest entirely with KPMG as to which bid they accept and the fact than they are in administration means that Bates has no say whatsoever on what action is taken by KPMG as regards the future

Ken Bates and Leeds United. Possibly the 2 things I hate most in football so I don't give a damn what happens to either of them. No doubt the football authorities will do what they always do-fall over themselves to bend the rules to allow a scummy club like Leeds to f*** over creditors and other clubs for the second time in recent memory just so they are still around.

I certainly am on holiday. Having a lovely time with the children, Paddy flew out for 48 hours and because of this blasted football club flew back last Wednesday.

But yeah, Paddy would do the whole no comment thing, he was on sky sports new earlier doing the very same.

I wish him luck........anybody but Bates.............for the good of football in general and the vast majority of Leeds United football supporters who want a club they can be proud of.

thanks. think we will need some sort of miracle and second coming of someone special to be able to turn this fiasco around. far too many egos with their own agenda have done far too many dodgy dealings in the past through/using the club to let this sink quietly and a sensible deal be done.

kpmg have screwed it all up royally and i believe there is now to be a separate case to be put to them regarding their handling and the best deal for all scenario that should have happened rather than their bates has told us to jump so we will ask him how high.

the football league have spat their dummy out this afternoon with kpmg regarding their handling of the situation.

the third bid is by far the best offer for creditors, by a long way. but kpmg and their whole changing the goal posts with conditionality are about ready to sit back and twiddle their thumbs while nothing gets sorted.

the third bid will force kpmg not to recommend bates' because there is absolutely no justification for accepting his puny offer when a much better deal, from sane business people is on the table with the money their.

the delay now gives us more bargaining time and a chance for kpmg to do some work and try to sort out the football debts and make offers and such to hopefully please the prefer debtors.

football league meeting tomorrow and they are pressing hard on kpmg for a resolution.

will be an interesting while. certainly not hopeful of a permanent resolution one way or the other anytime soon. bates is absolutely livid and while on a personal level i have a lot of time for him nothing pleases me more than to hear him wailing on a business one.

Have they got a youth academy?

Yes they have. My nephew is a goalie there.
They're unlikely to promote him to the senior squad yet though, as he is only 8. :jester:

I might tell my brother to reduce his pocket money from £3 a week to 3p, just to prepare him for the harsh realities!!
