as 10cc say, not in hove
Why do people think we are going to get constantine? He turned us down in January despite the offer a £150k a year pay rise. Why would he have changed his mind now?

i don't. simply pointing out that a post on her about 2 weeks ago said it was "definitely us or leeds unless they had any problems with the administration"

Sorry wasn't specifically aimed at you, there just seems to be a lot of people who are convinced we will get him.

Id take being manage by Erikson (Which will probably only be for a season or two) if we had their ground and playing in the premier league to be honest. I meant id trade everything they have for everything we dont!

Know what you mean.

From the BBC :-

Leeds 'may not start next season'

Ken Bates has already warned that the club's future is in jeopardy
There is now a real danger that Leeds United will not be able to start the new football league season, their administrators KPMG have warned.
The comments were made at a High Court hearing in Leeds, where the club's plans to exit administration are being challenged by HM Revenue & Customs.

KPMG said that unless the club is able to leave administration, the Football League may not let it start the season.

BBC Radio Leeds understands the Football League is as yet undecided.

No-one at the Football League was immediately available for comment.

Renewed rival bids?

The court case has now been adjourned until 3 September, while Leeds are due to play their first game of next season away to Tranmere on Saturday, 11 August.

Former Leeds chairman Gerald Krasner told Sky Sports News he thought the ownership question would be sorted out before the start of the season.

He also raised the possibility that two interested parties could join forward to buy the club if KPMG rejects Mr Bates' plans.

Those who have previously declared an interest in buying the club include Duncan Revie, son of former Leeds manager Don, and property entrepreneur Simon Morris.

Unpaid taxes

Earlier this week, businessman Simon Franks said he was ready to buy Leeds United, through his Redbus investment vehicle.

HM Revenue & Customs is unhappy at the plans of Leeds chairman Ken Bates to pull the club out of administration by paying creditors just 8p in every £1.

Mr Bates has already warned that the cost of defending the court action could cost the club its future.

Leeds United has debts of £35m, with HM Revenue & Customs owed £7.7m in unpaid taxes.

And once they have sold, where does the £4m go?

The players are assets of the club, and as such any funds realised by the liquidation of the assets will be disbursed by the administrators to the creditors. Once in administration, the club do not control the chequebook or bank account, and need permission to buy a packet of paperclips.

I read this post by a Leeds fan this morning.

Despite the embargo Nicholls has completed his move to Preston today, which I don't quite understand.

If this other, better offer is accepted then despite none of us knowing who's behind it, what plans they have for the club or whether they're going to stick it out, GOOD! There were a few rival attempts orihinally, from Revie, Morris and another - as far as I know Morris offered a much better deal to the creditors but Papa Smurf made his liquidation threat and suddenly bingo, he has 75% of the vote. In the end, he seemed to sail through unopposed, so much as I was gutted when the IR challenged it the other day, if we end up losing Bates as a result it can only be a good thing. And to be fair, Bates' offer was a joke and someone was well within their rights to challenge it.

Has also emerged that while the players were 'advised' very strongly to vote in favour of Bates, one player voted against him, David Healy. Wise is supposed to be just a bit pissed off about this and there are suggestions DH has been advised to stay away from the training ground for his own safety. All in a days work, then. It's great having two such lovable rogues in chage of the club, what fun!

Could we ,perhaps, suggest that the acceptance of Bates' laughable "rescue" saw them technically OUT of administration, but that its subsequent overturn RETURNS them to administration thus incurring a 10 POINT penalty that the sneaky, slippery Tykes avoided at the end of last season?

They are still in admin. They did lose 10 points last year.

Yes,yes. But the meaningless loss of ten points last season was a scandalous northernish ploy to avoid the ten point deduction this season. So please can this perverse claim be made so that Leeds start on minus 10.Then we can judge how good they are vis-a-vis,say,Rotherham.

Re-read this bit.

HMRC has been challenging Mr Bates's plans to exit administration at a High Court hearing in Leeds.

KPMG said that unless the club was able to leave administration, the Football League may not let it start the season.

League officials are due to meet next week to discuss the situation.

I hope Leeds find themselves out of this mess quickly.

I can't bring myself to feel any satisfaction at another clubs demise, particularly after what happened to us. Their fans have had quite enough grief to be honest and I'd like to think we'd help out if push came to shove.

As much as I hate Leeds United, it would be sad if they did go out of business as they have far more heritage than Wimbledon. Leeds were fcuked over badly by the running of the club, and probably one man, Peter Ridsdale. Now, am I not mistaken, but weren't Wimbledon fcuked over by their board and chairman? So why does everyone have a nationwide sympathy for them and hatred for Leeds?

There are very few clubs I couldn't give a toss about, the clubs like Boston United who clearly try to treat other teams and their fans, but Leeds wanted the big time, the chairman gambled, possibly cheated the fans but in no way have the cheated other teams like Boston and MK Dons have by getting head starts.

Chelsea are likely to be in financial mess if they don't sort out their act as well.

seems this is over a technicallity that would probably have been overlooked had the offer not been so ludicrously low and the share holder vote wasnt a tuckup. lesson for everyone here: dont f*** with the Inland Revenue.

Yet it still seems they can bring in three players according to BBC

Yep.They only have 17 registered players,so they can sign 3 to bring them to minimum requirements.

Probably cannot find the fees and the wages, though,so three cheapies?
