Leeds Again

Leeds fans certainly will as a collective get what the deserve, as they have in the past. It's a shame there are a lot of fools who are fumbling around with their eyes closed who either don't want to listen or just don't don't care. £4.5 million in monies in the LUFC07 account, hardly a message to Bates that 'we' don't want him.

And we haven't renewed.

Another problem now is that these people no longer want to deal with us. I don't think the police or St John's Ambulance want to deal with us, which makes it impossible to host a major event.

That is incorrect.

WYP want to be paid upfront which is fine and is the case at many other clubs, St Johns Ambulance received the money they were owed from a charitable Leeds fan (and I know that does not excuse Bates) and are prepared to attend ER under the same conditions as WYP.

I think what is very worrying is that Bates is now bullying the Football League. He is doing it by the blackmail of Leeds folding if the FL do not pass on the "golden share" and has wound that up even more by not paying the players wages. A quote from a Leeds spokesman on the BBC site said "June's wages are due to be paid when the Football League/Football Association return the shares,"

I'm really sorry for Leeds, afterall I live and work in the city and to many of my colleagues Leeds mean as much as Brighton do to me. But, for the good of football, the FL must not be intimidated by Bates. They must not blink first and give into his blackmail. If that means Leeds folding, then so be it. Leeds would reconvene just like AFC Wimbledon and would rsie (probably very quickly) again.

To do otherwise would send a green light to other businessmen to carry on in the same way

Bates knows his ground. I think he knows he can bully them. And get away with it.

And there is no quick rise through the Leagues. Even for Leeds.

The players (bar 4 who were paid by KPMG) agreed to a deferral of their wages until the share issues with the FL is sorted. When it is the money is there waiting to pay them, they know this, Bates knows this, the PFA are aware of this. Currently Bates does not hold the registrations for the players and the PFA told him not to make any payments until his does. If the share is not granted then the whole situation alters.

They might not blink to Bates but the OldCo can still start in League One as long as Mystery Man is still prepared to fund this, the FL have already told us that.

Really is a screwed up situation there. Do you think we'll be able to start the season?

As things stand right now and as LUFC07 - then no way. As OldCo, maybe.

I think LUFC07 have completely and utterly lost the plot.

Hang on, I'm completely lost now. The old Leeds which has the share are in admin. I suppose if some "Mystery Man" can fund that companies existance, then yes I suppose they could play in L1.

But, would they be allowed to play at Elland Road? Does Bates have any say on that? Would he allow them to? And who is Mystery Man?

The FL will let the old company start the season in admin as long as they are satisfied that the funds are there to get the club through the season (or until the club is sold).

Yes they could play at Elland Road, the agreement if between the football club and the owner and not with Bates.

So, it would appear that Bates has no say on the old Football club? If so, why doesn't one of the investors buy the football club and let Bates have the business. Or is this a really stupid question, but its one in which I would love to know why not.

Btw the Starry, do you post on WACCOE, and if so under what username

possible scenario: Leeds United FC ditch their current team (would they have to pay up outstanding wages), and employ the youth squad. Staying in administration, they get 10point deduction straight away but with minimal wage bill know they can fulfill fixtures for the year. So they comply with FL rules and Bates is left out in the cold. maybe simplstic and im missing something. But there's only 3 weeks to go and someone is going to have to resolve the issue, even if its the FL capitulating.

Because in theory there is nothing left at the OldCo for anyone to buy, the players etc have been 'sold' to Bates. But that deal has not been approved by the league. So, if the deal is not approved the players will still belong to OldCo and OldCo could potentially start league one depending on the funding and things.

Nope, I don't post on waccoe. I read sometimes but that's it. I post on a much smaller, private Leeds forum without all the children and superfans that are on waccoe.

Yes, well does anyone really imagine that uncle Ken hasn't just slipped the players their wages in a brown envelope and told them to keep it quiet until he can do it officially.

Bates may well do that sort of thing, but I doubt he'll be parting with his own money when as it stands right now he could very well end up with nothing.

This could be a defining moment for The Football League. They HAVE to stand up to Bates for the greater good of football.

I post on there under the same username on here. Quite a few brighton fans come on there now offering their support.

Can you blame them for not wanting to deal with LUFC or LUFC07 or whatever the hell it's being called today? Nobody in their right mind will deal with your club all the while that scumbag Bates is running the show.

Been vaguely following this in The Guardian over the past weeks. It really is a god awful mess, which KPMG seem to have conspired (if that's the right word) to make worse, if that is possible. There are some VERY dodgy things going on here.
