Tell me what wages he would require, and THEN I'll feel qualified to pass an opinion on whether it would be worth it.

I havent seen him play however....

That would send out a lot of positive messages about the ambition of the club and may attract other better players.

Yes yes yes. You can see his class on the ball. Just needs more match practice I reckon.

No disrespect meant, but why are people so obsessed with a players wages.

Surely if the Chairman is happy to meet a players wage demands, then that should be satisfactory enough.

It's not our job as fans to check every piece of a players contract and to be honest, in most respects it's none of our business.

If Bloom wants to pay Lee Hendrie £10k a week because he thinks he's worth it, then let him.

I'd rather he pay that for someone of Hendrie's calibre than 5 crap players on £2k a week!

I agree, whether a player earns £10 or £10k per week would not make me decide he is a benefit to the team. I judge a player on his ability not his earnings as that is not my concern and if the club board think it is a good deal, whatever he earns, then that is ok by me.

Like many I have opinions on certain players but have no idea what their wages are.

Lee is currently on 20k a week and we are paying 10k of that while he is down here. I think Mr Bloom may be adjusting the wage budgit of the squad as he starts working towards his target of Championship football.

Saying that though I dont reckon we would want to match his current salary

I agree with both of you to a certain extent but where do you stand on people like Lampard, Terry, A. Cole who are already on 100K a week and then ask for an extra 10k on top of that.

The chairman is obviously happy to pay it but do you think their worth it?

Most definitely! Has the touch of class and quality we're lacking in midfield, but as mentioned above would have to be the right contract. But in principle I would love it if he signed permanently

Even if they knew todays outcome they wouldnt swap the good timesthey had in the Premiership for continued existence in Div 1 or 2.

In our case we have, we believe, an astute chairman who is also a fan so he wouldnt jeopardise his poersonal wealth, his family security and his football club by extravagence that he couldnt afford. At least I dont think he would.

FRUIT OF THE BLOOM
Theres no doubt if he got a full pre season in stays fit and gets a run of games he would be very good at this level.

If the wages are right then i would go for it.
I would not like to see any player on 10k a week here though at the moment, thats championship and good championship money in my opinion.

I think he should be match fit by now. He's obviously been training all season. I'm looking forward to seeing how he plays tomorrow (if he gets a game) before placing my vote.

I think he got a bit of a shock vs Hartlepool with the amount of tackles he was getting. I didn't go but on the radio it sounded like he was copping a lot of stick, not suprising given the impact he had vs carlisle. Sign him up I say, quality on the ball and showing a willingness to nuckle down and work hard.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Portsmouth are still far from certain that they will continue to exist next year. I strongly suspect they would trade everything for their very existence.
