Although agreeing that Tross is likely to go at some point in 2023, the only differences with the Biss situation is that firstly, we have been a lower half/relegation contender for 4 yearsThis feels like a Bissouma situation unless I'm pleasantly surprised. We won't sell him in January, will trigger his year extension and then sell for a decent amount the following summer with Enciso or Samiento playing a bigger role as the season progresses.
Sadly, I just can't see Trossard signing a new deal.
Now we are no longer seen like that. That may change his view about staying as it clearly did for Ali Mac.
Also Tross is scoring more regularly and getting noticed. I am sure he will be a regular starter for Belgium AFTER the World Cup when Hazard retires (although she probably should be starting ahead of him anyway).
He has to decide whether being a regular starter and scoring regularly for us is better than being a bit part player for a side who can pay him a lot more.
My biggest worry is not the current Big 6, but a side like Newcastle who would probably give both the money and the game time.
