[Albion] Leandro Trossard SIGNS ON A FOUR-YEAR DEAL

It hardly takes a rocket scientist to link Trossard to Chelsea. However, as others have said I think a team like Newcastle is more likely. However, can also see this being in the summer.
The Undav to Burnley rumour does sound a possibility. He needs game time and opportunities.

Unfortunately I think Trossard is absolutely ripe for Newcastle at the end of the season. They will be able to provide a bid that matches Tonys evaluation and are also on about the right trajectory to ensure Leo would get plenty of game time whilst doubling his wages.

Unfortunately unless Tony decides he's going to start playing our best players more money we are going to continue to see them leaving.
Alexis signing a new contract, when he had plenty of reasons not to, suggests that the club is increasing how much it is willing to pay the best players.

That said, the club is never going to pay more than Newcastle, City, PSG or similar oil state-funded team.

Don't think Trossard is overly horny to go to Newcastle though, and possibly not vice-versa either. I think he'll look more at the possibilites of titles not five years down the road but now, while Newcastle will probably look for younger players than Tross.

The reporting on this is pretty thin , even for transfer rumour standards. Saying x or y is interested means nothing - of course clubs might be interested in Leandro Trossard. He's scored 11 goals in 18 - he's going to attract interest. As @Not Andy Naylor says Bloom will take a view about whether it makes sense given squad strength/size of offer. Those decisions re: Cucurella and Bissouma and Ben White all seem pretty sensible with hindsight.

Sadly totally agree. Newcastle should appeal to him. They can afford big wages and critically way more chance of being a regular starter as opposed to being part of a regular rotation with too much time on the bench.

It would be nice to know what persuaded Ali Mac to extend since the sad reality is that the normal driver is wages and we just can't compete with some of the big boys :(
Mac Allister was 20 when he joined and still only 23 now, so there was probably a massive pay rise for him without breaking our wage structure.

Trossard is 27 now and coming to that time where he’s in his absolute prime and his best shot at singing a ridiculous contract is probably over the next few windows. We will probably be able to up his wages but not to the extent the big 6/7 will be able to pay.

Ali Mac will be in the same situation when he comes to end the end of his new deal and if he continues to perform as he has he’ll be looking at having the same profile as Trossard and those same deals is what he will be chasing.

I wonder if a Trossard to chelskie and we keep Gilmore plus cash might be an option?
Mental block ? Maybe you’re thinking of Levi Colwill? (Gilmour was signed on a permanent deal from Chelsea in September for 4 years)

But even if Colwill was at the level of play to Tross, (and a similar market value!) he’s a defender so not in a month of Sundays does that make sense even if it could financially 😉

Ps Not that I think Chelsea will
Make any kind of offer - nothing to substantiate that one way or another from what I can see 🤷🏻‍♂️

If whispers are true and RDZ is to be heavily backed in the forthcoming windows he may decide to stay.
Brighton do spend . In every window. So what whispers , reporting about Bloom and upcoming windows do you want to share ?

"heavily backed" = "backed" and these aren't "whispers". Its reporting from a leading football correspondent.

!
Given Mykola Matviyenko is one of Ukraine’s top defenders, that RDZ would want to sign him is not really surprising but it’s not news that Matviyenko would feature in the January transfer window under the recommendation of RDZ tbh (and not news to NSC - think this was posted several days ago 😉) - Arsenal, West Ham and Brentford have been interested in him for years.

(’Heavily backed’ I assumed the OP meant the Club keeping our one prolific goal scorer for the sake of RDZ’s game plan over the next 6 mnths or so as opposed to selling him because price was ’right’ but maybe that was me reading something into that which wasn't there!)

Chelsea have launched a £30m bid to sign Brighton and Belgium forward Leandro Trossard, 27.

Having a laugh aren't they?

I thought Gilmore only here for a season long loan?
replied to you above

Permanent signing in September 2022 for 4 years - he was on loan to the Canaries for 21/22 season

Colwill is on a year’s loan from Chelsea

Just mentioned on talksport. Darren Bents top players so far. Glowing. Better than Hazard. Value over £60 million.
