That was brilliant but even more impressive HE GOT A SHOT ON TARGET AND SCORED!!!!!:albion2:
I said that to the Bobkin Jnrs while watching MoTD. In all the excitement, I'd missed the fact that he did a goal!

I think under Potter , he played a lot of games with Gross alongside him. It often didn't work because they were both looking to occupy the same space, and also although both willing, together they lacked the necessary pace to control the middle. Now with Moises, Mac and Lallana the midfield has power, pace and guile. A great combination.
A fantastic midfield combination as you point out. In terms of back-up, you can swap Groß for Lallana and Gilmour for Mac but we don’t really have that pace, power, all-action back up to Caicedo. I think we may need to do a bit of work in the transfer market in January or next summer. Mwepu might have been the man here but a like-for-like replacement for Biss is something I think we could do with.

The fact he was asked to take the team (with Crofts) before RDZ tells you enough about his leadership qualities.
I missed that bit - what was he asked to do?

When we have Moises, Mac and Lallana all on song there really can’t be many better midfields in the country.

He was interim co-head coach along with Crofts.
No he wasn't.

Andrew Crofts was interim head coach and was assisted by Shannon Ruth, Nick Stanley, Adam Lallana and assistant goalkeeping coach Jack Stern.

The media tried to play it out that Lallana was in charge but that responsibility fell to Andrew Crofts. It was all in the statement on the club website when Potter left.

My bad.

When PB was interviewed around the RDZ appointment, it did sound like Lallana and Crofts were "in chrage of the training" though.

Lallana has been brilliant. He's a master organiser and leader. He's coaching and playing in every match. He has been so worth the money. And lovely watching his technique and vision.

I remember when Dunk and someone else (Webster I think?) was interviewed together, and that they said that Lallana was the "managers pet".

That's something you say behind his back if you don't completely respect him. The fact that they said it in a video interview kind of showed that it was completely accepted that he was close to the staff and a good leader.

Brilliant and insightful interview this morning on the breakfast show on Talksport.

One comment, said RDZ blow his mind with his ideas when he came in. Quite asoundning considering the coaches Lallana has worked under.
