Kuipers - is he the third to lose legendary status this season?

Didn't see the game, but believe Kuipers to be our best keeper by far,and the best we have had for a considerable time.

Is he a legend?

In the way that Cullip and Oatway are legends, perhaps.

But is he a true Kit Napieresque legend? An Eric Gill legend?

Nope.

On the subject of our keepers did we ever appoint a replacement for Critchon or are we still using that goalie coach who turned up on trial just before Adams got the sack?

Bring back Keelo. He`d come as well if he was paid what he is worth.

kuipers had an absolute hollocaust yesterday

if that had have been henderson in goal, then people would be posting clown pictures, jugglers, all sorts. first and third goals he came for and got nowhere near - much like at mcdons last week, and the second goal was an absolute joke. should have held it, if not, push it away, not straight at an attacker

cost us the game today, and when players cost teams games they should be dropped

As a member of the FDM appreciation society, I completely agree with you.

Let's not forget the first few minutes, when it was 0-0, and the ball was slowly rolling towards him (he probably had enough time to come out, gather it, run back to his line, and then gather it again), only for him to stand and watch their player run in, free on goal, and blaze horribly wide. Awful, awful miss. Awful, awful keeping. They should have been 1-0 up in the first few minutes.

Sullivan for me please.

First goal he should have come for an punched. Second goal he should not have cocked up for.

Not the first time he has been to blame for important goals either this season...

Then again, every other player seems to be gash so why should Kuipers not have the occasional blooper?

That said, I would have stuck with Sullivan.

Even though his record is far worse?

Actually, as an individual it's only slightly worse.
With Sullivan in goal the team is pretty much equally 'successful'. Essentially, we're as likely to win with Sullivan as we are with Kuipers.

Then I'm right then?

Overstating it a bit. Sullivan concedes about two thirds of a goal more per game. Hardly "far worse"

But it depends on what's important. Do you want a good goalkeeper or a successful team? For a successful team Kuipers and Sullivan are interchangeable.

I am a huge FDM fan but I have just watched the Swindon highlights and he was definitely at fault for all three goals. After letting in the first his confidence was shot to pieces. Hope he bounces back today.

Ever thought about a career in politics?

at fault for first 2

So it wasn't the defense then? did they do their jobs and stop the opposition from getting shots away? - NO, the swindon players were finding it far too easy to get through and get shots away so to blame the keeper is a bit harsh.

The goal where he started to come and then stayed out was not his fault, we had two defenders between him and the ball, he would not have got there before the ball hit the ground so there was every chance the Swindon player could have got there first. Kuipers made the right choice, it was our defense having a poor second half that was to blame, they should have dealt with it. (possibly a throwback to the Luton goal we conceeded where both came for it and messed it up.)

Too often this season commentators have had cause to say "there was nothing the goal keeper could do about it".
