Kuipers - is he the third to lose legendary status this season?

Kuipers has cost us goal after goal whenever he,s played this season .Its time to change the record, he doesn't keep us in games, he's no longer a good shot stopper, he doesn't command his area, & should only used to warm the bench .If any other keeper had pushed those two shots back into play he'd have been slaughtered for it. Michel Kuipers FAK (Former Albion Keeper)

He produces talismanic performances week after week, no matter how bad the team in front of him is. So he was at fault for a goal today, who cares? We're hundreds of goals in debt to the great man.

Totally agree, Too many people waiting to jump on his back at the slightest opportunity

to be fair, for the second goal, the defenders backed off ( i USE THE TERM "DEFENDERS" IN THE LOOSEST POSSIBLE UNDERSTANDING OF THE WORD)

the shot dipped and he did well to get anything on to it and the forward took it well.

the third goal was a howler from the "defence" allowing Cox to poach a brilliant goal.

A keeper is only really good as the defenders in front of them......which is our problem in a nutshell

But when you have a brittle defence as we have you need your most experienced member of the back four to take charge of the situation, his hesitancy in dealing with what should have been his ball in the build up to the first cost us in the next 10 minutes.

To be fair to the defence during the build up to the second I thought Elphick was pushed which put him out of position and left the remaining back three dealing with three running forwards.

We need an experienced head in the back four who is either a Danny Cullip type leader or a Guy Butters type talker, someone to take charge and organise. None of our centre backs are either of these.

Kuipers had a nightmare game and it will be interesting to see how TCB will defend his performance.

Bollocks did he, he was at fault for the first goal but the second he did well to get his body behind it, and was unlucky our defence parted for Paynter to score. Nothing he could about the third.

Michel Kuipers = Albion legend for life.

He was hesitant for the first started to come then went back. Should have either caught the ball or patted down in front of himself for the 2nd and was badly positioned for the 3rd.

Bad time for him to have a howler!!!

I have always been a fan of Kuipers and preferred him to the likes of Henderson and Blayney. However, today his performance was abysmal and in my view was the catalyst for the defeat.

In the first half he could easily have been booked for mouthing off at the linesman about a stupid offside decision that he can't see from his position anyway. He followed this with a Hendersonesque save, pushing the ball back into play and only got away with it as the ball was cleared by an Albion player, possibly Whing.

Their first goal, he came for the cross, changed his mind and was back peddling when the ball came back in and therefore his momentum stopped him from coming forward to collect the ball before their player poked it past him.

Second goal was another shot parried back into play.

I'll let him off the third one which was avoidable but will blame Whing. He had just crowded out their player on the left who had to lay the ball back but why did he then proceed to come inside and leave the guy on the left completely on his own. The ball went back to the guy, crosses it and nearpost flick, thank you very much.

Adams reputation lies in tatters but time may well heal that one. Dick Knight has had the worse season of his tenure starting with the sacking of Wilkins which has never been explained.

Mathematically, we are not down but that's about the best you can say about it. Last season we were still mathematically in with a shout of the play-offs with two games to go. This year, will be relegated with two games to go.

The season ticket renewals will certainly be interesting reading.

1) Adams...his reputation lies in tatters and will stay that way forever. He is finished as a manager and made sure that we are finished as a Div. 1 side.
His previous tenure was overblown in achievement and any ' legendary status ' was undeserved anyway.
2) Knight....3 decisions this season have reduced his credibility to only a couple of notches above zero...a) Reappointing Adams b) Not sacking Adams at Xmas and saving the season c) Throwing everything at Jim Gannon and then settling for a ' makeweight '
3) Kuipers...has always had his limitations, that is why he performs at a lower level. Only seriously threatened once ( Ben Roberts ) and he lost out.
Strengths...good instinctive shot stopper and motivator. Weaknesses...indecisive at crosses, regularly beaten from 20 yards, either on the deck or in the air. When he has a bad one, it is often a ' mare '

it was a poor shot and how did he do well to get his body behind it and he pushed it stright out to there forward

Out of interest where were you sitting? I was right behind that shot in the family stand and it moved all over the place. He did very well to get behind it and once again was let down by our defence failing to react first.

I don't know if one bad performance is enough to lose legend status.

But for those interested, these are the keeper stats for this season so far:

*League and cup
*Penalty shoot outs count as wins/losses, but goals conceded in said shoot out not counted

You may have seen the route of the ball from as far away as the family stand but from the North Stand he just pushed the ball into the path of the attacker exactly the same as Henderson was always castigated for.

Third goal - El Abd was a f***ing disgrace for that. The guy had the ball on the left and was going nowhere. But El Abd didn't make any attempt to tackle, despite being 2 yards away for about 10 seconds. His backing off is a farce. He gifted them the chance to cross, and the marking in the middle was a joke. As for Michel - NOT his fault.

What a suprise that it had to be El Abds fault! Even if he hadn't yet come on as a sub it would have been his fault.

That just proves our defence are utter shambles the amount of different back fours we have had this must be in double figures
